I'm not even sure his ceiling is higher but I do agree with your overall point. Heck he's 27 and can still get much better. Geno was terrible at 27. If he doesn't work out like you said its not a big deal you can still move on and/or draft a guy.
I'm hoping we still draft a guy who can possibly be ready when we depart from Darnold.

Have no clue what you're talking about. Seahawks downgraded at the QB position this off season, and I'm not the only one who thi ks so. Go see what sherm thinks, go see what Brock and saulk think, go see what bump thinks, go see what the boys at the nfl network think. Not one expert, ex player is saying the seahawks have upgraded at QB. They all say, they better beef up the line because darnold can't handle pressure and we saw that in his last two games. If you think he can, you're a fool.
Bump loves this move, and was a big proponent of Seattle acquiring Darnold.

I’m not so sure. All in all, I like the initial reports of what I’m hearing on the contract. But, there is $55M guaranteed involved.

This is our QB for the next three years.

Unless JS and MM absolutely love a guy in this draft, it’s Sams Club for awhile.
Next two tops unless he balls out that third year is a myth

One thing about Darnold is he is really good operating off of the play action pass. I know Kubiak likes using a lot of play action.

Let's just say I'm hopeful they didn't just sign a guy because of one outlier year but I'm very skeptical at this point that they may have.

A fair thing to be skeptical of but I'm fine with it at this point because the contract isn't crippling if we move on after a year or 2.

I liked Geno but I just didn’t want to extend him at 45 mil a year for who knows on how many years.

I think the more likely scenario is they just bridged the QB position for the 2026 draft. Let's just hope the bridge doesn't collapse before then.

I am a big Geno fan and really sad to see him go but I just gotta say I think Darnold on this deal works for this team.

33m a year when geno would probably be 45. Darnold is seven years younger so if he works out we have our qb for a while. If not he is a solid veteran bridge.

Reunited with Kubiak this all makes sense. And we get a 3rd round pick out of all this.

I'd say the team is now in a better shape than if we brought geno back for 45 a year. Lots to be excited about if we can draft and use our cap well.

I could be wrong though and Geno may play out of this world this year while darnold returns to a bust. But to his credit he did just have a 14-3 season which is no joke
At this point he only has one true weapon to throw to, JSN. They need to draft a WR and grab a WR in FA (Cooper/Diggs?) so they can spend the bulk of their picks on the lines. Hopefully Barner comes in ready to launch.
