Their defense has been terrible...they needed to shelve out money to get any talent.Really good cheap contract vs paying Boye Mafe $20 mil per. Bengals were nuts. I liked Boye but not at that price

Then I want Clowney if that's the case.
He blows Mafe's rate away, by far the better player, just on the old sideI didn't know he had a higher win rate than any current Seahawk. I think at the very least he's equivalent to Mafe? I love it. I expect Durde/Macdonald can get the most out of him and he doesn't have to be an every down guy either. I can't wait to see what this defense looks like with the young guys ascending as well. This is going to be an all time defense when its all said and done.

Sacks are overrated at the expense of pressures. Sacks are great because they lead to loss of yards and down, but pressures lead to turnovers. Give me three guys who get 10 sacks a season rather than one guy who gets 20. Plus edge players need to set the edge and neutralize those outside runs. Win rate is about disrupting the offense and minimizing gains.High win rate doesn’t equate to sacks just ask Boye Mafe. That tells me the player doesn’t know how to finish hopefully in the process you setup a teammate for the big play. I do think either way Fowler is a good fit especially at $5 million per year

I've actually kinda walked away from this viewpoint over the last few years. It worked a lot better before every team started drafting Russ clones. Now everyone has a QB who can escape a sack with 3 edge rushers getting a piggyback.Sacks are overrated at the expense of pressures. This used to be painfully true with Seahawks before MM came on board. Way too often when it looked like our D was about to put the opposing QB on the ground for a big loss of yards, the QB would make an elusive move or two, find room to throw, and golly, the opponent just picked up 20.I've actually kinda walked away from this viewpoint over the last few years. I'm tired of seeing it and I want these guys on the ground.
