Considering all the praise Demarcus Lawrence has received (and earned), there can't be much question he was asked about his former teammate. Obviously, Fowler would have consulted DLaw too. One can only imagine the the pieces of that conversation that may impact future FAs as well.
-Great culture
-Defensive Head Coach committed to top D
-Seattle is a place where under-appreciated vets can come to get their ring.
-The DLine rotation allows high-effort, experienced pass-rushers to stay fresh even if they're in their 30s.
-1 or 2 more years to play at a high level in exchange to mentor young guys that go get paid like Mafe. ...paying it forward.
Keeping a mix of young/first-contract guys with experienced vets on the DLine is a difficult tightrope to walk, but seems like MM/JS (and Durde deserves credit here too) have a good plan in place. It'll obviously be easier if Seattle remains the destination of choice.
Seems like Leonard Williams deserves a shout out here too. Thank you JS for signing that mid-season rental even though many here on .net called you out at the time.
