There’s been a lot of talk lately about the crowd not being as loud as it used to be in Seattle.

I’d argue that while we’ve had good teams in the past, post Wilson and Legion of Boom, they haven’t felt as electric as the team we’re watching right now.

We never had a defense that had a nickname because it's so effing dominant post Legion of Boom.

This group today gives us every reason to bring extra energy. Every reason to be confident. Every reason to be proud. And that energy shows up in a big way at Lumen.

My prediction is: When it’s time to face the Rams, the 12th Man don’t just watch the Seahawks play, we play right along with them.

That said, let’s maybe dial it back just a little when the offense is in the huddle. Lol

The crowd hit 112 db on Rashid’s return. While it’s a far cry from the peaks of 2013, it’s probably close to the normal levels of that era.

You are absolutely right. This team has the energy to draw that noise out of the crowd, and feed off of it.

Recapturing that home field advantage, along with MMs incredible ability to win on the road, portends a bright future for this team.

1769005310659I saw a hi-res photo of this shot on TV a couple of days ago, and was surprised in the amount of red in the crowd behind the SF bench. This photo is not as clear, but you can still make out a color that is definitely not blue. It was stunning for me to see because I have no recollection of that many 49er fans being in the crowd. I did not attend the game, and did not notice this from the TV broadcast.

Can someone who actually attended this game comment if there were that many SF fans in the crown?

Yep, there were a lot more Niners fans at that NFC Championship than there were on Saturday night.

137 is like being next to a jet engine we did in 2013. We lived in KC in 2014 and went to some games. It was also crazy loud of course. Impressive we are so close to KC as we have less fan capacity but they have no roofs which helps us I’m sure. I hope we get into the 120’s this Sunday. Maybe more:)

For sure, there were a lot of their fans. I was there and recall that.

Right now, there are 2800 ticket listings on StubHub, with plenty of them behind the Rams bench. I expect we will see more of them than we would care for. Makes me regret not spending more to get tickets on the Seahawks side, instead of Rams side. However, as you might expect, there definitely appears to be a substantial premium for Hawks side. At least in the lower level.

I wonder how accurate the decibel meter they are currently using at the games now actually is? The high water mark during the LOB days was captured by a calibrated decibel meter brought by the Guinness Book of World Records. Before that 137.6 game, it had been recorded right around 112 by certain sources. My Apple Watch regularly hits 130 nowadays, and my seats are in the upper deck. It has to be louder than that down on the field.

Rams don't have fans
The Rams have one of the smallest fan bases in the NFL, and most of them still live in St. Louis. I don't think they travel well, and I predict there will be fewer LA fans this week than there were 49er fans last week.

I live in LA, and I have never met a Ram fan. I know more Charger fans, and there are still a lot of Raider fans. They still televise most of the Raiders games here in LA, which really pisses me off.

LA is a Dodgers and Lakers town. When the Rams play at home, they have to deal with crowd noise. One game this season was estimated to have 61 percent opposing fans:

KC can have their decibels it's fine, Seattle is a better venue and sports town and it's not close. If I'm not mistaken, Missouri is one of the origin places of "hootin n hollerin", Mississippi might take the cake but is too poor to have sports just pig chasing and dating etc.

So I was at a Seahawks Chiefs game in KC in 2022. The one thing about that place is that it's built so close to the field. They have overhangs that get the upper levels closer to the field. I would say the average location of fans to the field is way closer. They also have very steep upper levels. This has to effect sound, and arrowhead was designed for it.
Our stadium is better for watching the game, but I dont think we will beat them in sound.

My voice is still out from Saturday. It was 110 on ever defensive play from the huddle on until the game was well in hand. I gave it everything i had.
