What if the Rams went after Harbaugh? It appears Harbaugh's going to force them to fire him. And, that's an attractive job for Jimmy.

The Rams are going to become the most attractive job in the NFL once they move to LA.

The sense I get is that although it's taking longer than they hoped for, the Rams org thinks Fisher has the team moving in the right direction, and recognizes that Fisher inherited the QB situation that has held them back.

I also think the Rams have had a closer look than most at the conflict Harbaugh seems to bring, and maybe aren't desperate enough to go that direction.

I also don't know where the idea that Harbaugh is going to force the 9ers to fire him comes from. The most recent reports are that there's mutual interest between Harbaugh and the Raiders, which would work for everyone (Harbaugh and the Raiders get what they want, and the 9ers get him out of the conference -- let alone the division -- and can also gain some minimal trade compensation).

The Raiders have to be at the top of the list, and IMO, the Rams have to be close to the bottom (Do they want a new coach? Harbaugh's fam wants to be in CA. The 9ers don't want him there for obvious reasons).

That "once" is a pretty big "if" IMO, and even if so, the real question is "when?"

If Harbaugh is hoping to end up with a team in LA he can just stay in CA and go to the Raiders, who have as good of a chance of maybe one day ending up there as anyone..

I follow the rumors on this issue way more than I should. Won't bore you with them all.

Highest rumor probability of truth is Chargers/Rams in LA.

Raiders seem unlikely. But, it would be funny to see Harbaugh coach the LA Raiders.

St. Louis will present their stadium proposal around Jan 23 or so. Rams will declare on lease to lease on Jan 28. Window to put in relocation plans for 2015 is Feb 1 to Feb 15.

So, if something is going to happen it's a short wait to know.

Fisher specifically chose the Rams over Miami because St Louis had what he considered a franchise QB and that blew up in his face. I think the fact that Bradford is the poster child for injury prone and the team is seemingly in home limbo would scare harbaugh away. I can see him going to the Raiders. Carr has the tools and keeps showing the flashes that make you think he's got a chance to make it.

If Jimmy does go to Oakland, it may be the thing that finally gets that franchise out of that shithole of a stadium. If he wins fairly rapidly, it might be enough of a push to get some taxpayer funding. I'm just speculating/rambling here, but I sure would like to see them get into a 21st Century building instead of playing in a 1960s pile of shit.

I do kind of think Snead is set on keeping Fisher. But, Harbaugh would be an upgrade. Available upgrades cause GM'S to bite apparently.

Bradford aside, that's a very attractive job. And, Fisher is bringing known deficits in his coordinators. Williams and Schottenheimer are bottom 5 bad. They're the issue.

The one thing that bothers me the most about Fisher is that he has kept Shotty. Rams will never have a good O regardless of QB w Shotty.

If Rams start next season w both Shotty and B, I will sadly be very pissed off.
