The question is, can McDaniel scheme his receivers open the way McVay can?
Their WR talent isn't on the same level as McVay's receivers, but yeah, McDaniel has won multiple championships as OC.

Really?

I have a hard time believing that as I think you all were beating teams by like 50 points in the regular season.
We were facing an all time great offense. Just about everyone was picking Denver. That is not an exaggeration at all.

I do think he is being contrarian but I also think people are vastly underestimating the Patriots around here.
Their D line is legitimately very good. Their secondary is as well. Linebackers are just ok.
Our D is better I think, and our O line might be marginally better too possibly.
Darnold has more experience and is playing far better than Maye and hopefully that continues.
I don't think taking the Patriots is even a completely untenable position. This absolutely won't be easy. They're clearly well coached, play strong defense, and they had the #1 ranked passing offense this year by EPA. Not to mention, the underdog has won four of the past five Super Bowls, and the one that didn't still beat the spread.

I'm just not surprised it's Cowherd making that "prediction", even factoring in that he was one of the very few media members taking us to win the NFC West before the season. It makes him physically ill to express a popular opinion.

Naw. We only scored about 2 tds more than the other team so the refs would stay out of it.

Honestly the Pats WR are not that great. A big weakness on their team really.
If the Pats have any chance they will need it to be a low scoring game. I expect them to struggle on offense.
Josh McDaniel?

lol. lol so hard.

Their Dline is pretty good. They can rush the passer and stop the run, better than the Rams can IMO.

Also our secondary minus Emm did get cooked last game... so I mean they're not totally wrong.

We should still win handily because their OL isn't very good, but Maye can and will escape the pocket and make plays down field.

Are they really though? (27th ranked Defens DVOA) Or did they look that way because the .. lack of opponents they played inflated their stats to make them look better than they were. They struggled in the playoffs and needed luck on their side in the playoffs to get to the SB. Without a doubt Bo Nix and the Broncos would’ve beat the brakes off the patriots if he was shown to play. That defense Struggled against a QB who hasn’t thrown a ball in 2 yrs. It’s easy for the numbers to make you look good when you have historically the easiest ranked schedule, the SB was the Rams vs Seattle. Two of the most identical teams in the nfl.

That's what I've been wondering. Who ARE the Pats WRs in the first place? Stefon Diggs? That bunch seems FAR closer to what the 49ers fielded than what the Rams fielded. And Maye is nowhere near Stafford on the field no matter what the MVP voting says.

I don't remember since it did not involve the Rams - what was the media like the year you all destroyed Denver in the SB?
Best Offense in the history of offenses vs a great defense. I think the Donkeys were favored.......cant quite recall.

Also - Manning accused of shooting up with HGH - but it turned out that all the HGH at his house was for his wife. So nothing to see there.

They aren't good. Probably the weakest area of the team. Maye is really good at buying time and making throws though. At least he was in the regular season.
I do think the Pats will struggle on offense.
