Both the Rams and Seahawks took a receiver in the third round of that draft. The results:

Cooper Kupp, Rams - 634 catches, 7776 yards, 57 TDs

Amara Darboh, Seahawks - 8 catches, 71 yards, 0 TDs

That draft as a whole was an unmitigated disaster. We traded down three times before we made our first pick, but ended up with two second rounders, four third rounders, and another pick near the top of round four.

The second rounders: Malik McDowell, Ethan Pocic
The third rounders: Shaquil Griffin, Lano Hill, Nazair Jones, Amara Darboh
That early fourth rounder: Tedric Thompson

Quantity isn't always better than quality.

The entire scouting department should have been fired for that draft.

Liked him a lot for most of his career, but he looks beyond washed to me at this point, and I don't want to be in a position where we're depending on him.

I vastly prefer Kupp to any of the remaining fee agent WR's. Totally agree that Amari Cooper looks done.

If this is a typical JS contract then it is actually a two year deal with something less than 45 million guaranteed. The key is how much is guaranteed.

very true, if he can stay healthy this is going to be a huge win. Hopefully we don't ask him.to block as much, maybe that way we can keep him healthy. The way he leads by example is going to help our young players tremendously.

1) we don't know the "real" numbers yet.

2) we're gonna have so much cap space over the next couple seasons that this signing won't hurt even if it doesn't work out.

MVS can be a vertical threat and I feel much better about this group and the offense as a whole. Still wouldn’t shock me if they use a premium pick on a WR too if the right guy falls but they don’t have to force it now.

They are set up to really attack the lines if they want.
