With Kupp holding up the retro jersey, could it mean this we'll be our new PRIMARY jersey?

I thought it was interesting how he said he doesn't play with a chip on his shoulder. He said carrying around that negative energy isn't good for his game. Totally different mindset than so many guys we've had here in the past.

No it just means they know the fans (and everyone around the league unless you are the 9ers and Rams) know they are the hottest retros period.

They will remain available for 2-3 games a year unless stated otherwise.

I want a hybrid uniform that bridges the current with the retros.

Kupp is all class, man.

Precisely what I expected out of him. I agree with the tenor of the thread’s comments in general about him. It’s clear he has a positive impact on us now as he undoubtedly will with his coaches and teammates as soon as OTAs.

Don’t throw tomatoes but I think the flannel and Pearl Jam is a bit contrived at best, disingenuous at worst. Of course it’s low hanging fruit, catering to the region and it’s very possible he was or is a PJ fan but it’s microscopically cringe to me if I am being completely honest.

Like how national broadcasts of our games in Primetime over the years has to have intro and outro music be grunge and the proverbial fish throwing at Pike Place Market or mention of Starbucks.

But I digress.

I seriously am ecstatic with this signing. Huge character human and great player who I think has plenty left in the tank both as a player and leader.

His leadership and love for the game is going to rub off on a lot of players. Going to be a HUGE addition to this locker room.
Like when we brought in Jones, immediately impacted the guys around him. Leadership is extremely important. He brings a lot of it. And a passion for the game. I look at guy like Reek, and I sometimes wonder if he actually loves football.

Have you seen his in-season beard? That and the fact that he went to Eastern WA U screams "Redneck" to me, so the shirts then would be 100% legit.

Great signing. Folks have been overplaying the 'washed up' take. Sure, he is not in his prime, but to have him on the bench with Darnold between series helping him see and learn the game better will far outbalance whatever loss in athleticism he has suffered at this stage of his career. The dude is a psuedo qb coach / on field coordinator with respect to what he will do for Darnold.

Not just Darnold but a guy like JSN as well who is already an excellent route runner - the two of them together should be able to really create something special.

With regards to injuries, I'm always a bit more optimistic about guys who have injuries early in the season and then come back strong - that usually points to either lingering issues not resolved during the offseason or nagging issues from the year before, rather than a guy who can't take the rigours of a 17 game season. This is a guy who had a season-ending injury in 2022 and missed the first 4 games of 2023 - that's not unusual. 2024 he had an ankle injury in week 2 and missed 4 games but played 12 of the following 13 - only missing week 18 where the Rams rested their starters against us. None of that for me is cause for concern

Seattle music (grunge) although not the only Seattle music is certainly the best/most widely known.
Tons of “classics” fall under the umbrella.

Even if he was catering to the crowd, it shows he knows “the room”.

Personally I wasn’t thrilled with the signing but….
….after hearing him and seeing him, I’m convinced he’s “all in”.
My take has taken a turn, I’m stoked, and truly believe he will have a positive impact, even if it’s not huge on field production.

I saw him on one of those 1:1 interviews after his press conference, and he said something along the lines of how he probably overdid it a little bit wearing both a Pearl Jam t-shirt AND flannel shirt. Lol. Cool dude.
