Sounded clear to me. 🤪

But really, I am befuddled as to his decision to do this.

I wonder if Indy threw him a ton of cash at his feet that he couldn't resist being the sacrificial lamb here.

To be fair he hasn’t signed yet. We don’t know if the Colts might have other guys coming in as well.

If Rivers plays I think our defence will legit murder him. I doubt he has any mobility left.
He’s 45. I’m 50. I stopped moving well at 38 being a non pro athlete.

Zero chance he can do this well. Though I hope he tries this so we get up 30-0 and rest for Thursday agonist lambs.

Isn't Kaepernick still working out? I mean, if you're acting out of utter desperation.....he's six or seven years younger than Rivers.

I have recently injured myself by sleeping 2 degrees off optimal in relation to my special pillow.

Old man river cannot be allowed out there.

I think they believe if Flacco can do it for the Bengals then old man Rivers might be able to help. Sam Ehlinger is sitting on the Broncos PS and has played for the Colts more recently. Ehlinger by no means is a savior but he does have experience with the current coaching staff and is much younger.

Not just that but he has zero calluses built up from preseason or practicing. One big hit or sack and he's going to be feeling it big time

They could pickup RW for a 2028 conditional 7th rounder. I might watch that game…
Don't forget we're past the trading deadline. No one on a roster is a candidate. They could raid practice squads though.....and they might have to.

This is true. However, if the Giants had assurances that the Colts would sign him they could release Wilson and have the Colts claim him off waivers. There wouldn't be any 'trade' compensation, but then a conditional future 7th round pick wasn't really trade compensation. The Giants would then be free of the last 4 games of Wilson's salary. On the other hand Wilson joining another team next season could count towards 2027 compensatory picks for whomever he finishes 2025 with. The Giants would probably prefer to have the cash and cap space.

According to Ian Rappaport this morning if they do sign Rivers it will be to the PS with the thought to get him ready for a future game and he would be unlikely to play this week against us.

The Giants won't release Wilson because they don't want another Daniel Jones scenario where the player they get rid off plays well and confirms that they don't know what they're doing. (Not that that would happen.)

There's a good chance that at age 44, Philip Rivers could still be decent. He was pretty good in his last season before he retired, and I have memories of him carving up the Seahawks in his younger days. But it's not going to happen in his first game back. There's no way he'll be ready for the speed of the game with less than a week to prepare.

okay good.

Not like there was a chance in hell of happening against this Defense but the thought of Rivers coming in at 44(45?) and just happening to have a good game and beating us (then losing the rest of the games he plays because FML), made me rage inside.

Good to know that all things will remain as they are and we will see a repeat of the Brosmer/Vikings game against the Hawks with the exception that the Offense (in particular Sam Darnold) will have a far better showing.

If the Giants release wilson there is no guarantee the Colts would be able to claim him. Their record is good enough that they'd be well down the list. The Raiders might claim him, and they'd have higher priority.

This is true, but do you see Carroll reuniting with Wilson? The Rams claimed Mayfield some years ago so I guess it could happen. Claiming Wilson would increase the wage bill by $4M. To me it doesn't make obvious sense unless you're a potential playoff team with multiple injured QBs.
