I also think the Canzone–Raley platoon has run its course.

Canzone/Raley isn't really a platoon. Canzone has been used almost exclusively as a DH or PH this year. Raley is our starting RF against RHP. Those are pretty different roles.

Also, not really sure what you mean by it's run it's course. They've both been pretty good this season. Not amazing or anything, but good. These guys aren't star players, and no one expects them to be. They're expected to be solid contributors and that's exactly what they've been.

And I'll also add that we've had it much worse at primary DH most of our last several seasons than what Canzone has done this year. I mean, he's hitting .270 with an above average OBP, good slug, and an OPS in the .820's. That's actually quite good in MLB these days.

Yeah, until the postseason.

He's played in one postseason. Perhaps he'd do better if he got another crack at it?

Look, he's a backup OF and part time DH. He hit .300 with an .840 OPS in close to 250 AB's last season, and he's currently hitting .270 with an .824 OPS this season (better than Cole Young in both categories, and people seem pretty happy with Young).

I guess I just don't understand what the issue is. Canzone has played well this season in his current role.

This team has quite a few problems. Canzone isn't one of them.

It's been a little frustrating seeing other prospects similar to Colt get their shot across the league. If he's ready get him up. It's been frustrating watching some of our guys play over him who are obviously not the answer. We've done it before with success. Heck Julio was given a shot and shined. I know some don't but I feel confident Colt is at least better than what we're throwing out there.

I love Canzone. He hit last year too. A ton of guys were terrible in the post season not just Canzone and it was his first go at it so lets see what he does with another chance.
