Our game was up by four scores by the fourth, but neither team pulled their qbs. We gambled our mvp’s health for an outcome already in hand. They did the same and lost theirs and are down to Mariota, Josh Johnson, and putting together yet another hasty tryout for the likes of Desmond Ridder and Nathaniel Peterman.

Another example: The Colts Raiders game at 40-6. The Colts eventually trotted Anthony Richardson out in relief as Pete stubbornly kept Geno in rather than sub in Pickett. If Geno had gotten hurt, they’d be rolling with Pickett involuntarily for the rest of the season.

We risked Darnold for almost a whole quarter in which we wasted a rare opportunity to evaluate Drew, who is on a two year contract with nothing remaining. If Drew scores a bonus td vs a couple interceptions, we still win the game plus now we have a better idea as to how to proceed with Drew.

From Grok:
Drew Lock entered the game as the Seattle Seahawks' quarterback in the fourth quarter, with just over seven minutes remaining, replacing starter Sam Darnold in a blowout victory (the Seahawks led 38-7 at the time). This occurred during garbage time after Seattle had built a commanding lead on Sunday Night Football (November 2, 2025).

Lock took three snaps on the ensuing drive, which ended in a three-and-out (no first downs, no points scored). He did not attempt a pass, had no rushing attempts, and recorded 0 passing yards, 0 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. The drive consisted of runs by backup RB George Holani to run out the clock, preserving the 38-14 final score.

So we stuck him out there just to run out the clock?

It was two weeks ago that the Broncos scored 33 points in the 4th quarter to beat the Giants. Is it likely? No. But if Bo Nix had been pulled because "the game was out of hand", it wouldn't have happened.

You can't play scared.

Excellent point, but the team had already lost five starters to injury before Daniels’ whereas Nix was dealing with a healthier deck. If they had put in Mariota earlier, Daniels and their hopes stay alive fir another week.

I can understand pulling the QB, and other important players from the winning team to protect them, but if you as the coach on the lossing team pull your QB that is a sign to your team saying it's ok to give up, and then you can't tell them to never give up in the lockerroom ever again...

As opposed to losing your franchise QB, all because you don't want to look like you're giving up? Come on man. That game was over at halftime.

I don’t need to see our potential Super Bowl bound qb get exposed to season ending consequences when we are winning by 35 anymore. I would like to have seen that Drew can do more than just handoffs instead of fighting the nagging feeling that we are dealing with two QB3s behind Sam

No doubt, was hoping they would pull Sam earlier too. Shoot, esp. if it's just handoffs the rest of the way. Then again, he wasn't hit once basically the entire game. Our O Line is solid. Our defense is VERY good. Quinn should know better.

Really shouldn’t do anything scared - might make you poop your pants.

I agree with the statement of “ you can’t play scared”. Daniel’s needs to learn how to fall I know it’s a natural reaction to try to use your arm to break your fall but there is too much force going to your arm

If I am the Redskins I am hiring a coach to work with the players on how to limit injuries by learning how to absorb falls I compare it to teams hiring a former baseball player to help QBs that have problems with sliding
