That makes me think of the 3 times I've seen James Taylor in concert. He takes his "intermission" and all he does the entire time is signing autographs. Didn't even really take a break at all.
Not sure athletes or musicians owe us something, very debatable on both sides. But........you sure appreciate when you see stuff like that.

It's called being a decent, kind human being. It takes minutes out of your day to make someone's life happier. Love hearing that.

I like the fact that MM holds the players accountable, but I don't feel the players should have to interact with the fans. That's silly to me. Why are the fans so entitled? Maybe it's just my age showing, but I could never be so invested that I would waste my time going to and watching training camp. I know people enjoy that, but it's just not me.
Literally:
Without “fans” there would be no NFL or any other televised professional sports.

Ask Kapernick (?spelling) how disenfranchising the fans worked out for him.

For many years I spent many hours at training camp in Cheney, probably some of my favorite memories as a Seahawk fan.
Not a waste of time in the least for me, cherished memories actually.

Cheney was some magical times. The towering, intimidating presence of Holmgren, the crazy heat, meeting up with Les and Darlene for some kick-a-poo juice with the likes of Doug Farrar and many other alumni NETTERS…

Meeting John Randle was a thrill...He loved my then puppy Boxer Bella (everyone did who met her). The grumpy, cantankerous Dave Pearson (Head of PR for the team who was NOT a fan of .NET) chatting with him...Ken Lucas was nice too, loved Bella.

It was fun to chat with the players as they came out to the field or leaving the field. Unlike the utter sh*tshow that is current training camp in Renton, there were not a ton of fans so it was super easy and chill to chat with the players.

I used to go to a couple a year in Renton, but it just got way too crowded etc. I'm good missing camp. But it sounds like that makes me less of a fan :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
I've only been a bandwagon fan since 76, STH since 93. Slacker :)

Camp can be fun. Just a matter of if you feel like dealing with the crowds etc. Sometimes you want to, sometimes you don't.

Who said it makes you less of fan? You know what they say about assuming Soul? :giggle:

Referring to the comment someone made about you. Made it sound like you're not a fan if you don't go to camp. Which I found extremely hilarious.

I regret not knowing them back then.
No doubt in my mind that we were there at the same time many times.

I still have a cap that I cherish.
I used the wrong silver colored pen, and the ink has faded to the point that probably only I can read the signatures.

Zorn, Largent, Norm Johnson, Charlie Young, and Ron Esink.
You’d have to google the years that those guys were all on the roster (many beers and bourbons ago, my memory fails me) but I’m thinking around 86.

Bottom line, those interactions with the players played a huge role in my fandom.
I feel bad for those that have never had those experiences.

Camp, for me at least, is kind of a take it or leave it thing. Some years I really wanna go, other years...meh. Also, it depends on how busy you are.

What's the connection with attention to detail while teaching and enforcing policies? It sounds like Brady is trying to shoehorn two unrelated ideas together.

As a fan, I've never been interested in camp and have a mild interest in preseason. I'm fine not being filled in about practice, haha.

At the same time, I'm grateful for those that do love that stuff. I'd rather read about it in a paragraph or two than try to digest an hour+ amount of news. That's not possible for me without the hardcore/die hards, so mad respect to all of them.

Hawks fans support Seattle how you wish, and let others fan how they want. There are plenty of scumbag SC fans to bash anyway, lol.

I never got to Cheney, but I did go to Kirkland. I never hear about that much.
Also, my grandparents lived in Rocklin,CA and took me to a Niners camp lol
I wasn't happy about it but I did get to see Joe Montana 3 ft away.
