‘They wrongfully pegged him as a slot…that’s the answer’’.

JSN can do it all. Not knocking anyone, but any prior talk of him being just a slot guy should be long gone.

This team has done a lot of great things the past three years but, taking JSN after that injury in his last year at OSU has been the highlight for me. Of course, being a Buckeyes fan certainly had me amped when we took him.

We are blessed at receiver and will be for a looooong time.

Feeling great folks!!

It’s totally ok to pay the big first contract. And even a second big contract for a qb or OL.

Doesn’t he have a 5th year option coming as a 1st round contract?
He's not a player that needs further evaluation to determine if he is worth paying/ keeping on the team, and outside Cross, the Seahawks haven't shown a propensity to use the 5th year option. It could be argued that this is because they haven't had any first round picks worth using it on.

JSN's 5th year option would be $24,372 for the '27 season, which would keep his cap hit just under $5 million next year.

You could likely negotiate an extension with a similar hit next year, and less than $24 mill for '27.

That would make him a very popular free agent in '28, and risks pissing him off. I would negotiate an extension which, while making him very expensive, could push the cap hit off a bit.

I’m not fighting your OP or your logic. Just pointing out that there is an option.

He was doing this last year too, burning people deep or anyway he wanted, they still didn’t know he is not just a slot guy.
