I listened to the audio. Sounds like Kirwan was saying that indeed, Clemons is shooting to start the regular season and get some PT in two weeks in a live game, which...man. Would be amazing.

I could have interpreted what Kirwan was saying incorrectly, though, or Kirwan could have interpreted Coach Carroll incorrectly. At least you can all listen for yourselves if you so desire.

Of he is being held out until week three then let him sit until week four for goodness' sake.

We won't need him against the Jags.

He's probably going to break the record for the number of sacks this season because he tore his ACL at FedExField.

Even if he was "ready" for week 3 of the pre-season I wouldn't want him to play until week 1 or 2 of the regular season. No need to rush an ACL injury.

Why not Griffen is ready. A little HGH goes a long way.

Ouch. Let's not go the AP route isn't Adderall Hawks enough for you? Let Washington break new ground. Besides they are our playoff bitch home or away. Like any team led by Cutler or Romo. Book it.:)

Hope he doesn't rush it, although it would be real nice to have him back by game 2. We could really use his rush against 49ers.

Alternatively, that'd be a great game for a tune-up.

No need to rush his comback, he's been in the system long enough to come right in and be productive.. Doubt he'll have a lot of rust to knock off. Wk 1 - 3 or 4 in the regular season is good . But if he is indeed ready, by all means put him in there and let him feast on Rogers some more..

We're going to really need Clems for the game against the 49ers.
I'm not sure how Avril would do against the run

If he is truly ready than I would be good with it, but if there is any hesitation or doubt about him being 100% ready, than he continue to keep him out until all doubts are gone.

I think this actually becomes an easier question to answer if: a.) Cliff Avril can play Week One and b.) Benson Mayowa runs with the ones in Weeks Two and Three and either excels or flops.

@CAR, SF is a really tough two games to open with. Really tough. It was clear last week that Bennett's mega-push up the middle means jack without outside rushers to finish the job. Especially against Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick, we do NOT want these guys escaping outside the pocket. If Avril and Mayowa can play, Clem should take it real easy for the first month of the season, in my opinion. If neither guy can play effectively and Clem thinks he can and the doctors think it won't destroy his knee, let him play Week One.
