Why couldn't Indianapolis play that bad against us? San Diego pushed them all over the field.

Because the Seattle game was their superbowl

Luck is obviously a stud in the pocket and a tough runner. He hangs in there for the hit and gets the ball out with guys all over him. Wilson would just duck those guys though.

In the Hawks game the Colts were catching everything, even with Hawks coverage getting their hands on the ball.
Tonight they were dropping stuff and killing drives. Reminded me of last year in SF. But the killer is how SD used the clock and the running game to give Indy absolutely no chances with the ball. Something the Hawks could have employed. The Bolts looked a lot like the 2005 Hawks offense or Holmy's wet dream system. Defense by Offense. The Hawks are actually really good at the long drive, they just need more TDs out of it.

The hate is geared more towards the media and analysts "gushing" over him like they do Peyton and Brady. At least that's what it seems like.

Agreed.. even the wife thought a little too much knob slobbing was happening.

Uninfortunately it seems you're not crazy. Everyone seems to bring their 'A" game against us, it's the price you pay for being elite I guess. When we survive this ridiculous schedule we will be so battle tested that February 2nd should be a walk in the park unlike 2005.

I had Charger fans over and watched this game (I live in San Diego).

It seemed honestly like Luck expected a win and was totally shocked all game that he was not winning. Just look at the pics of his face during the game. They play Denver next week, so maybe he forgot that Chargers can be good?

Chargers played with energy and force. Not perfect, but with heart. For them, dif of 3-3 or 2-4 was a big deal.

Too bad we called them out the last game. They could have used the stick-em again and caught some of those drops. LOL!

Other than him being Stanford alumni, I don't understand the hate for Luck. I think the kid is great and look forward to his success in this league. He and RW are both ballers and the future of the NFL. Better to get use to him now, he's going to be featured prominently on Sportscenter for many, many years.

Getting force fed hype since he was in school. Suck for luck was like a cancer on .net. He's a good kid, and a good player, not about him personally.

This is how I feel about Oregon, actually. Hate the hype and program, like the players, a lot.

But much of the comments regarding Luck do seem rather personal. "Neckbeard", "Amish QB", etc. Now, I'm not being a stick in the mud, any guy that has a neckbeard should be called out for it, but I know many of us are football purists and as corny as this sounds, I think some are allowing their disdain to cloud their vision, which will disallow them from seeing something spectacular.

Someone said Gruden called him the best in the game. I have to call BS on Gruden, but if he were a Hawk, I don't think there's a player in the game that I would trade him for. I'm being redundant, but his skillset reminds me most of Rodgers, though I think Luck is stronger and he's definitely smarter (no knock on Rodgers, Luck is probably smarter than Manning, too). He is a goofy prick, tough. I think that goes with the genius part.

Luck and RW couldn't be more physically opposite. I'm going to enjoy watching them both work their own particular brand of magic, taking their teams deep for the next decade. Like Oregon, I think Luck will not only live up to the hype, but live through it. He's well compensated for it, but imagine the burden he carries because of it. Nobody hates Stanford more than I, so for me to like him, I know he must be doing something right, lol.

What makes you think he's smarter than Rodgers or Manning?

I forget the show, but I saw some special on the way Luck's brain calculates time and distance and how it translates to ball trajectory, etc. They talked about him having a photographic memory and that football related math (f you will) came as natural to him as walking or talking.

Luck was very humble, if not embarrassed, and tried to downplay this talent. As he was doing his podunk, "gee whiz, golly gee" thing, they threw some ridiculously long and complicated Xs and Os type play at him and asked him to translate it...and he broke it down like he was saying the ABCs and did so in an almost catatonic manner.

But I'm not and Xs and Os guy, so I may have been more impressed than some. The segment was 1000 X more interesting and impressive than how I am describing it here. The mental gymnastics of football.
