Is there anything less interesting than who pays money to schlep their corporate log on any stadium? That can call it dog-poop stadium and I couldn't care less. Just play the games.

I was hoping the Allen family would buy the rights and name it the Paul G Allen Stadium.

Does everyone just call it The Clink, or do some people say C-Link?

All corporate stadium names suck but at least with yours the nickname (if it's The Clink for everybody) at least sounds cool.

For the 9ers stadium the corporate name is so short that people just call it by that, and it's a terrible name.

I don't disagree, I'm rather fond of the Clink. I heard some people try to force nicknames on Levi Stadium, Wikipedia has the nickname listed as 'Field of Jeans', which I've never even heard spoken aloud. Of course, I'd be lying if I didn't say Drew Magary's nickname didn't make me chuckle: The Jeanhole.

Does not the Allen family own the Seahawks and with it the naming rights?

The Seahawks - Century Link partnership has been a good one.

Century Link has been a good reliable partner for me as well. On Wednesday the 21st, they came thru with free install and upgrades. They took out the old service line and replaced it with an upgraded new line. Rerouted the new line and added an actual physical box to the house with proper filtering. They also upgraded an inside the house line to my modem. All upgrades were free. And the end result is a reduced (guaranteed for life) monthly rate for unlimited phone and internet. Now that's what I call valuing existing long term customers. I discovered that those of us who have been with them thru all the name changes (since pre QWEST), are better served by getting past the sales group and into the tech staff that possesses technical knowledge of the history of Century Link. I should have done this a lot sooner.

Excellent partner. I'm good to go with Century Link thru 2034. :2thumbs:

The company that has the naming rights does have some influence over the in-stadium experience, so I do believe it is important. Look no further than TMobile blasting a non-team color scheme all over the Mariners stadium. At least Safeco kept all their branding within the color scheme and motif of the park. So I’m glad Centurylink is locked in, as I’ve not noticed any branding that is too bothersome. The TMobile thing actually detracts from the baseball stadium experience for me.
