Burns is another former Steelers' first round pick (like Devin Bush), who was good his rookie year, then faded. Steelers declined his fifth year option, Burns went to Chicago and tore his ACL. Steelers attributed his decline to a "loss of confidence" on Burns' part.
The guy had all kinds of speed, setting youth track records in high school. Burns was playing well in training camp last year, and was penciled in to be the starter until he suffered a groin injury in August, which allowed Tariq Woolen a chance to step up. Bob Condotta in the Seattle Times wrote about the loss of Burns, and how the Seahawks might have to try rookie Woolen at corner. Seems funny now.
There might be a youth movement at cornerback for the Seahawks as the likely starters appear to be rookies Coby Bryant and Tariq Woolen.
