This game upcoming against the 49ers couldn't come at a better time to get a proper eval on the defensive coaching staff.

We all know that the Seahawks currently employ a don't get beat over the top no matter what philosophy, even if you have to sacrifice everything on defense, giving up first down after first down underneath. Play 10 yards off and stay on top.

Well, Jimmy G can't throw the ball across the street. Jimmy has a very limited arm and does pretty much all of his work inside the numbers. He really struggles throwing the ball deep. They run an array of WR, TE, & RB screens, a lot of dink & dunk, slants, they are very creative and make it as easy as possible for Jimmy.

This gameplan to stop the 49ers is obvious. Load the box, take away the run game, crowd the LoS and force Jimmy to throw it over the top. The complete opposite of how Pete has been deploying his defense.

If Pete still rolls with what he has been doing, he is completely ignoring the upcoming opponent's strengths and weaknesses. Jimmy and the Niners would love nothing more than to see DBs playing 10 yards off the whole game.

Regardless of the result of the game, we'll at least have an answer pertaining to how well the defense is game planning and preparing for opponents. Because it couldn't get anymore blatantly obvious on what to do for this game.

I think we're gonna roll the 9ers and smoke em like a spliff.

Then, I think we lose a close one to the sheep, but there's victory in defeat there.

From there we go on a murderous run for the rest of the year. Legendary. Murderous.

Book it.

This season feels like the opposite of what normally happens during a season is happening, frequently. Home opener streak broken, Vikings win streak broken, record leading by x pts after x time in game nope. Typical Seahawk trends have flipped all over the place. Bad O in first half now bad O in 2nd half.
If they split these next 2 I think it will be loss to 49ers, beat Rams. We typically handle San Fran well and not the Rams.

Unless they have a serious aha moment on D though, they probably lose both.
