He nixed the trade the Raiders had worked out with New Orleans with his no trade clause, so Vegas didn't get any compensation, forcing them to release Carr. Then he goes and signs with the Saints. Ice cold, lol.
No love there, sounded like Raiders' front office mishandled the case.

Carr can still play but that’s a little too rich for one position

How can the Saints fit him in. Weren't they already over the cap?

My guess is that we should stand by for back end loaded contract numbers.

Plus contract adjustments involving other players ..............

EDIT: "The next two players whose contracts will likely be restructured are Cameron Jordan and Marshon Lattimore." -- per -- Jason Fitzgerals of OTC

Nice 2023 cap number buys Saints time to work on cap budget. Here are the numbers per OTC ................

I am having trouble seeing this as a good idea for the Saints. One about-to-be-a-free agent QB who's likely to be noticeably better than Carr in 2023 is Darnold, and Darnold would probably be a lot cheaper, since he's now widely seen as a bust.
And now, as @Jville's post shows, the Saints basically can't get away from Carr and his way-too-expensive-for-what-Carr-should-be-expected-to-produce contract before 2025. Yikes.

It's a league of 32 unique teams and unique team philosophies.

Saints signed their headliner for 2023. Carr's contract and contract fit are actually consistent with recent Saints cap habits. Saints are, once again, over the cap with many contracts including void years and implied dead cap charges in their future. They have kept themselves buried ever since the reduced cap year.

It's a genuine comfort to know that the Seahawks are in such good hands.
