Can we overcome our passing offense?

No.

There has to be a better verb to title with than overcome, but I guess the OP had to go with a negative feel.

I have no idea how someone can watch a game and say it was ALL on Wilson today or any week for that matter. Wilson hasn't been himself lately and it seems like he is pressing. He's in a slump but he will figure it out. You can't be as good as he has been and as consistent as he has been and not figure it out.

I know people hate hearing it but he really doesn't have a ton to work with. Brady, Manning etc all of them have struggled after players go down. Brady without Gronk was horrible. We don't have a legit outside threat yet or a big target for Wilson and that makes his job a little tougher. Maybe Richardson develops into that, but at this point he hasn't.

Can Wilson play better? Of course. Is it all his fault? That is ridiculous.

Rob this isn't directed at you but at Spindoctor. :)

350 yards rushing.. set a team record, highest amount by any NFL team this year, we just beat another NFL team by 21 points and the point of emphasis is a passing game that was average yesterday.. maybe because we were rushing for damn near 8 ypc that we didn't feel the need to push it with the pass game.

Our receiving targets are fine, but Russellhas been off his game. 2 ints versus what is probably the worst, and most depleted secondary in the NFL?

He needs to figure out what is wrong and do it soon. KC will walk all over us if we play like that next week.

I think he needs a better QB Coach, like Jim Zorn.

That depleted secondary had 12 interceptions coming into that game yesterday, I wouldn't call that the worst in the NFL. But please, do carry on with this line of thinking.

I was looking and I believe we only have 3 passing TDs in the last 5 games..which is just...amazingly bad...even a really bad QB/offense usually manages better than that

KC doesn't have a passing TD yet this year..

To a WR I assume? I certainly have been the beneficiary of a few Travis Kelce TDs in fantasy this year

Not without weapons, no.

Russell Wilson is showing all the signs of a QB who doesn't trust his receivers. He's standing in the pocket refusing to throw, double-clutching, tucking off and running. And I don't blame him. There isn't a single true difference-maker anywhere on this team, except maybe Doug Baldwin. When are we going to start acknowledging the difference that lacking Percy Harvin, Golden Tate, and Zach Miller makes on this offense?

I agree KC and everyone else moving forward will walk all over us. We are too one dimensional on offense if RW can't connect on his throws. Works fine against non-playoff teams at home. But our next 6 games are crucial and we can't rely on teams not stopping Lynch or contain the read option. NYG looked like they had never seen a read option play before. No more games like that any time soon.

We're saved. Tony Moeaki will be active this week against his former team the Chiefs. I expect him to have a line of 10-140-2 td's. :D

The Seahawks will push through just like last season. The same thing was being talked about last year when there were injuries to the O-line....remember? When the big ugly guys up front get their game going again, the pass game will be fine.

The Seahawks haven't had the same starters on the offensive line for weeks now. QUIT FRETTING PEOPLE!

Name a team in the league that hasn't lost a game that they were expected to win this season. That team just lost their QB for the season. Quit fretting.

Russell Wilson is showing the signs of a QB that has had a different starting offensive line for many consecutive weeks. He hasn't had time to make it to his second read very often and is clutching because he knows the guy isn't as open as he wants him to be, but if he doesn't throw the ball or run, he will probably get sacked.

The receivers are fine. When the linemen get time together, the passing game will get better.

The sky is not falling.

All true but we need to understand certain people cough cough Spindoctor, cough cough Jacknut have agendas and their agenda is to show they were right when they said Wilson was bad. You heard very little out of them the first 4 games, then a little after the 5th and then nothing after the 6h and now after 7 & 8 their back, Just so happens when we hear form them its when he plays bad, when he plays well which is more often than not, they say very little other than to deflect how good he is playing so it seems like it is because of everyone but Wilson. Jacknut has been doing this on 2+ forums ever since Wilson was drafted. There are lot fo thing stacked against Wilson right now, some of it is himself, some oline, some wr, some play calling and route trees. All that said he will work it out, after pretty much carrying this team for 5 of the first 6 games I think he can get a little slack on the last 3 especially since despite the passing game he is still been essential to our wins in other ways, something most QBs cannot do. As I have showed compared to other top QBs he has very little around him, see below

Luck – 3rd pass blocking o-line and has TY Hilton, Wyane, Nicks to throw to
P Manning- 2nd pass blocking o-line and he has Thomas, Welker, Sanders
Brady 7th ranked pass blocking o-line (ours is now ranked 28th) and he has Gronk, Edelman
Rodger o-line ranked 17th in pass blocking and has Nelson, Cobb to throw to
Brees o-line ranked 6th and he has Graham, cooks, Colson,
Ryan 12th pass blocking o-line and he has Hester, Jones, White, Smith
Rivers 11th o-line, and he has Gates, Floyd, Royal, Allen

Wilson 22nd ranked pass blocking oline and he has Baldwin, Kearse, TE-Wilson,

So as I showed above he has very little around him compared to all these others, and all of them would struggle if they had to play with what Wilson has. So relax, he will get it together. He has proven he can and earned the right.

Guys, you're killing me here.

It's safe to say the outlook leaves more questions than answers, but let's not be so hasty as to toss in the towel just yet.

The key with the KC game is the matchups. We are not going to be able to go deep, but we are going rip them up in the middle and edges.

I think teams may have in their heads that the book on defending Wilson has been nearly written, and we are going to start to see teams trying to duplicate those techniques more often than what we've seen so far. Because we are well-coached, we've learned to identify those looks and deal with them more effectively. Players will come in too confident and pumped and will telegraph more.

That said, because Russell is such a versatile player, when his passing is sucking his running is setting team records. We are just in the midst of the pendulum swing to the run side is all.

Not worried about the D.

I think the OP question should be....Can we overcome ALL these injuries?

At some point, the answer has to be no simply because of who is left.

I will say this however, I am very impressed with the way our staff has applied the band aids that got us to 6-3.

It is quite an accomplishment.

Unfortunately (and fortunately for us) there are few teams in the NFL that are not being worked over by injuries right now. I would argue that our division rivals all have it worse than we do, even with losing Mebane.

STL: Done - #1 QB, #1 DE, #1 LT, #2 WR, #3 RB. Banged up - Every member of their secondary.

SF: Done - #1 LB, #1 DT, #1 C. Banged up - #3 CB.

ARI: Done - #1 QB, #1 DE, #2 LB (suspended), #3 LB. Banged up - #1 RB.

We have a ton of injuries too but most are on their way back. Our D-Line is the only unit that really looks banged up long-term with Mebane, Scruggs and Marsh on IR.

Short answer for me: No. We can't overcome bad passing. Russell needs to snap out of whatever funk he's in and make it work.

If you are going to continue to bring up my name , stop lying about what I have said.

I have said time and time again I think Wilson is a top 10 QB, I said last season he was the Hawks best player. I have always praised his intelligence, his talent, his ability to make the running game better.

NOW- I no longer think he is the Seahawks best player, although he is still the most important player on the team, as are most every QB in the league.

Unless he plays better the Hawks dont have a prayer in KC this weekend.

I dont think he is a top passer from the pocket, and I dont think he is as accurate as everyone makes him out to be thats it, thats all.
I think when he loses a step, when his legs go, that his days as an effective QB in this league will come to an end.

If you dont like my opinion, thats your problem. Not everyone has an agenda as you do.
You will throw the entire team under the bus, you would rather Wilson play well and have us lose, rather than win and have to field question about why he isnt playing well.

There are tough times ahead for the Hawks if we dont have our QB play better.
