25 Million gauranteed? Talk about over rated. Browner was much better and to a large degree so was WT3 when he was healthy. Congrats, on to the next one.

I think that is some revisionist history. Maxwell played great during Browner's four game suspension in 2012 and when he was injured and suspended in 2013. No one seemed bothered that Browner was gone in 2013 due to Maxwell's play.

Thurmond was only healthy for a season (with a four game suspension) in 2013 and mostly played slot corner.

I was okay with having Seattle offer Maxwell $7 million a year in an extension after the 2013 season. But for basically $10 million per with half guaranteed, I totally understand Seattle bowing out.

Free Agents are really feeling the impact of the rising cap right now.

Maxwell wasn't anything special when he first started. I think Simon has the potential to be a better corner than both Maxwell and Browner. Let's give him a little time to develop first.

Ever since Kam got locked up I've figured that the 2nd CB spot is always going to be a "next man up" position due to having so much money going to be devoted to the secondary. Maxwell leaving for top dollar is just a natural progression of this.

Well I guess we're stuck with Simon now, and I certainly hope he can step up. He's going to drive us mad though next season.

Our defense absolutely got weaker today.

I think it makes it critical to boost the defensive line with this move, we're absolutely going to need to get more pressure on the QB because I fear Simon will get burned A LOT next season.

Simon was playing with broken fingers and a just separated shoulder as well, he will be ok, has good aggression and instincts just need techniques to be fine tuned.

Also loosing Richard to the DC and Manual to Atlanta may hurt short term on our teaching ability of our secondary, I have yet to see someone be named secondary coach, unless I missed it, But those two had a lot to do with getting our DB's on top of their game.

Right, but Quinn didn't know it would cost 10+ to sign him. I thought he might inquire about him, but a Mike Florio article I read "I will try and find the link" stated it might be a red flag for the Eagles that Quinn had no interest in the DB.
