His career is going to be over before it starts.

He's a heady QB that doesn't get rattled, but that same calmness allows him to get hit, hard.

I wouldn't take him in the 1st round. He is too light for a QB. He is 25 - 30 lbs lighter than Cardinals QB Kyler Murray.

Did you guys watch the game? He was plowed under by a 320 lb. tackle. Yes, any QB can get injured (ask Trey Lance), but he is a tough kid and did not shy away from the hits. He got a TON of big hits. If you guys think he won't go in the first 3-5 draft picks, you are in for a surprise.

Plus, he's only about 196 pounds.

Being tough is good..Russ was tough too.
The point is in the NFL a first round pick and $$ factor in whether
one wants a scrawny QB who body may not survive NFL hits.

That is one checkbox on a GM’s list of criteria, but it is not the disqualifier that you and others on the forum seem to believe. It will probably keep him from getting drafted ahead of Stroud, but he’s going to be drafted high in the first round.

True, size and related injuries are still a factor but it's becoming less a factor with how refs are calling hits on the QB. It's damn near two hand touch.

You forget they run RPO and there is no slide protection or when they run under pressure
and get caught before sliding.
I agree on the less factor with hits on QB while standing but they still can hit just not pile
drive to ground.

Nick Saban uses up his players. They have a history of getting to the NFL, and their recurring injuries pop up. They have great players with longevity that make it to the NFL, but there are a lot of bad ones too.

Bryce has already missed a game due to injury. I'm not sure where he'll get taken, his decision making is beyond elite, but I hope it's not the Seahawks.

If Tim Tebow can get drafted in the 1st round, anybody can :p

I think he goes top 7. He's an excellent QB prospect, has everything you want aside from being slight, and is a tough as nails gamer.

Being so slight is a very, very valid concern. But any time you draft a QB, unless it is a close to perfect prospect like Andrew Luck was, there is going to be a flaw that you have to hope that they are able to overcome. I'd roll the dice on a slight guy who has everything else to the extent that Young does.

Another way to look at this: With very few exceptions, any QB who has a long career is going to have injuries. It goes with the territory no matter how big he is. That does not completely negate the argument, but adds some context.

Stroud doesn’t seem like a QB who can win on his own. He needs the best WR core and to not be under pressure, or he play is so/so. I don’t believe he would be an upgrade on our current QB’s.
