Glad to see he is back..I think he belongs with the Hawks and I hope there is a way to make it happen..

Ain't gonna' happen, bro.

Pete has been scrutinized since USC and I doubt he is enjoying this notoriety of PEDS, pot and the Seattle Seahawks.

Any coach of substance would be putting his foot down and I am certain Pete will do just that. Browner's a goner, 2 lengthy suspensions in 2 years is not cause for celebration. Thurmond is gone too and I wouldn't be stunned to learn Michael is on thin ice.

I like Browner, and I am happy he will again be able to support his family. Let's hope he don't let them down again.

Well, I'm not sure whether BB will be back, but I think that has more to do with Maxwell balling out. Browner is a prideful dude, so if another team offers him a starting job, such as Jax, he's gone.

I don't know which 'Pete' you are talking about, but If it's Carroll, I have to ask you where you've been the last 4 years?

Pete is all about giving players 2nd and even 3rd chances. He prefers to work with a player rather than passing the problem to another team. Somehow you have him as someone riding around on a moral high horse while kicking first-time offenders like Thurmond to the curb.

This characterization might be a case of you trying to project your own way of thinking onto Pete...what he "ought to do" according to your own set of values. That is the only way that part of your post makes any sense. Pete could care less about what any outsider thinks.

This guy is a turnover machine. Why wouldn't PC want him back. He is respected and loved in our locker room and not to mention understood. He likely wouldn't be getting anywhere near the reception somewhere else as he would get returning to the Hawks. My money is on him having the opportunity to come back and compete and him running with it to show the world what he can do. it probably stung a bit when BM stepped right in and performed so well that they really weren't talking about us missing him anymore at all. He has something to prove and Sherman can keep the man's fire stoked.

That said. They will find a role for a turnover playmaker on the team and I don't think he will demand a heck of a lot.
The guy who replaced him was also a turnover machine. And will cost less. And won't be playing with two strikes.

Thurmond is the more desirable because he can play the slot.

I think there will be more interest in Browner around the league than people think. Everyone is looking for "Seattle-type defensive backs" these days so when an original member of the LOB becomes available there is going to be interest.

I love Browner but I don't think he's getting his starting job back from Maxwell and someone will offer him more than the Seahawks are willing to pay. I'd be surprised to see him back.

Ahhh man this is awesome news! Even if Brandon doesn't return to the Seahawks, which I really really hope he does, I'm just happy that the man gets a chance at redemption. Something tells me that a "determined to prove the world wrong" Brandon Browner is going to be an even scarier sight than a normal Brandon Browner. I'd love it if he went to Jacksonville and helped created something special there the same way he did here in Seattle.

Holding out hope that he makes his return to the Pacific Northwest. I was at that Giants game in 2011. Even before that game BB was quickly becoming one of my favorite Seahawks. That just cemented it. Still to this day one of the happiest feelings of my life. Here's hoping the man finds the perfect opportunity for him to shine again!

I love me some BB but if were going to sign a pot smoker its got to Walter. He's good in the slot and can move outside if there is a injury to Sherman or Maxwell. I have to imagine that BB is gonna be cheap though and wouldn't mind seeing him back too.

Such an embarrassment of riches now. So many high quality (if not Elite) DB options to chose from. Lots of other teams would love to have such a problem. I for one am hoping that Pete gives Browner an opportunity to compete for his old job back. Maxwell has earned the starting spot, no question. But if Pete's "Always Compete" mantra means anything, then I think he should at least get a shot.

You would have to sign him first...he's a FA.

It's interesting that NFL.com has nothing on their site about his reinstatement but were miles ahead of everyone to break the news of his impending suspension.

You beat me to it, but I was thinking the very same thing. I just checked this morning and still not a peep, which is strange as Browner would be one of the top FA CB's (after Talib) and maybe top 15 overall.

I'd like to see him back, but honestly, we wouldn't pay him very much. I've always liked Browner and he got totally screwed by the league out of a ring and signifigant money. So, when he hits FA, I'm hoping he gets a fairly lucrative deal.

The other thought I had was that maybe the league is compensating him on the down low......might also be a reason why they're super quiet about it on NFL.com. He had a great case and I can't see him lawyering up and getting nothing out of it.

My favorite Browner moment was easily the body slam on Jennings...the way Jennings got up after getting his clock cleaned and tried to do something and Browner is like "Bring it lil boy!" the he just tosses him like a rag doll...CLASSIC!

I hope Browner celebrated this milestone by bodyslamming an NFL drug tester in the same way.

Maybe he could bullrush through the entire drug testing offices the way he did through those Cards special teamers.

That's a really good question. The biggest, most physical, Pro Bowl corner in the NFL. Should get us something decent if he starts a whole year for another team.

happy for him, hope he finds a job, not on the seahawks. Why would you want a player who would pick a bong over the Lombardy??

Yeah...Thurmond needs to go too. And Bruce Irvin.

yep..WTII needs to go too. Bruce gets a pass. Its one thing to do a drug that increases your performance and makes you a better player. Wrong? yes. Understandable? yes. People cheat. Getting high does nothing for you, your team or your game. You just would rather be stoned than be a champion. And I say that having smoked more dope than all of those three put together. Not gonna risk my job which has two less zeros on it than those guys just for "fun", or relief..take a frikin advil. BB is 29 years old, fully aware he would get randomly tested..grow up.

Your facts are correct but your conclusion is a bit suspect. We are talking about their livelyhoods here, the ability for a man to make a living. You wish to take that away from him why exactly? Because over a 5 year span, he has made the mistake of smoking weed and getting caught twice? He has reportedly been tested HUNDREDS of times since he got back in the league, all of them clean. Then he messes up. Yes, a bad mistake. But he didn't slap his girlfriend in the face, or even worse, knock her out cold with a closed fist like Ray Rice. He didn't kill a man due to an idiotic decision, as others have in this league. What was their punishment?

There is something in this world called common sense. The punishment needs to fit the crime. Getting 2 positive results out of hundreds over a 5 year span for something as you admit is not even cheating, but DAMAGING to your own body, and you wish to punish him to what extent? Take away his entire life?

So, according to ESPN, Browner is still going to get a suspension of some length. I'm not a big Browner fan, but hasn't the guy suffered enough? Due to the league's stupidity, he was forced to miss what was most likely his only shot at playing in a Super Bowl. Now I know he still gets a ring and was part of the team, but there's no question he would have preferred to play. He blew it, and that's an opportunity he'll never get back. That being said, I could see him teamed with Joe Haden playing for...the Browns. Rimshot anyone?

Yes, but because he is reinstated, he can at least prepare for a season by being in camp.

I like Browner. He is one of my all-time favorites, he brings the wood every time and owns receivers at the line. The guy just tosses them off their routes.

Could you imagine what he would have done to Decker and Thomas in the Super Bowl? Or Crabtree/Boldin in the NFCC?

I want him back, but his priorities need to be modified severely.

I like Browner but he's fairly one dimensional. Yes he brings the boom and is great at pass coverage but as mentioned by the bleacher report he ranked 81st among CBs against the run according the PFF. I doubt we bring him back unless he really has the desire to take a fairly small paycheck. Personally I think with all he's been through he deserves a big paycheck, not sure we can afford that unfortunately.

Fwiw, Browner got his SB check... and he will get his ring. Stay tuned.
