yea, I am not sure how you expect to not get called for a hold when you wrestle the guy to the ground by his helmet like a steer. Although, I guess the alternative is his patented "ole" move.

IOL really needs to be addressed in the draft this year, preferably with a high pick. If Geno doesn't have a guy in his face within 2 seconds, this offense is genuinely top 5/10.

This line has a lot of work to do. They are getting mauled by the opposition. I'm not sure where the Dolphins are ranked but Seattle made them look pretty good for most of the game

I think they (Forsythe and Haynes) need(ed) a dose of what our Tackles got 2 years ago: thrown into the fire and learn from experience with gametime reps.

We have the 8th ranked offense in the League based purely on yardage and points per game.

We have faced the 3rd, 11th, and 19th ranked defenses in the League (based on yards per game).

We are starting our 3rd string RT.

We are currently tied for 15th in League for sacks allowed.

Do with that information what you will.

For the most part I don't really mind where an OL holds *IF* they are clearly beaten - it tends to stop a sack (which can turn into something worse), and while you get hit with a 10 yard penalty, you do get the replay the down.

With Bradford/Haynes, I don't think it's any coincidence that our RG has looked awful for years because we have been underskilled at RT. If Lucas ever comes back we should see them improve, but both are obviously still raw prospects so they are going to get beaten as they learn and get better.

The RT is playing ok given that he is the third guy. I have been focusing on Bradford. He holds way too much and I'm not talking about just the flags. I'm talking about the number of times he gets away with it and doesn't get called. He looks like a drive killer to me. Conversely, Seattle's defenders are being held at a very high uncalled rate as well.

Woolen is playing extremely well and doesn't have to put his hands on the receivers as much as he does. He could get called for illegal contact, the five yard automatic first down variety, a lot more. The only player that the refs seem to be watching closely for illegal hand use appears to be DK Metcalf. He does shove a lot while running interference for the pick plays but, in this game, he was called for shoving off on a completed comeback route.

I get that everyone wants to panic about the guard situation, but musical chairs with rookies isn't going to suddenly fix the line, and I'm glad the coaches aren't knee-jerk reactionaries.

If they feel Haynes isn't ready yet, why would they put him in? Just to say they did something? It's random flailing.

(Referring to Haynes) He's a rookie. He'll be ready when he's ready. Until then, yeah - we're going to take our lumps and they're doing exactly what they should be. Holding the wheel steady until the road smooths out.

Sometimes you need to let your guys try to pitch their way out. We're going to suffer in the meantime. Suffering is inevitable in football.

Bradford had a lot of penalties and mental gaffs. On the bright side, Stone looked halfway decent at RT. At this point, I'd love to see more of the rookie at OG.
It's not just his mental gaffes and penalties. He's horrible in pass protection and one of the reasons why we experience so much inside pressure.

I know a lot of you don't think much of PFF's grading system, but it sure meets the eye test when it comes to Anthony Bradford. As of Week 2, Bradford was ranked 54th out of 65 ranked guards. It will be interesting to see how that changes after this week's grades come out.

If you look at this highlight video of Charbonnet from yesterday, and also Metcalf's TD you can see that Bradford is absolutely dominating at the LoS in pretty much every single play, and in particular for a number of Charbonnet's big runs, its his win specifically that creates the holes for Charbonnet to run through

So while I'm sure he has his share of gaffes and penalties, there is still also tremendous upside there for a young guy

I've noticed on a couple of his poor plays, he delivers the initial punch and the DT just shrugs it off. Bradford then doesn't move his feet, as though he is shocked and takes a split second to react to it. Either he is not as strong as he was last year or the DTs we have played are prepared for his punch. He needs to master his reaction when his punch doesn't phase the opponent.

Offensive linemen are rarely as bad as fans think they are. He looked like a mauler on most of those runs, even when Charbs ran through his gap for his second TD
