Blair probably out for the season; that was brutal. Hope he recovers well, I feel bad for him.

The Diggs ejection should have been a lesson. Guys need to stop flying in trying to make big hits without seeing what they are tackling. It should have never happened.

Losing Blair sucked. Especially because it was a stupid hit that never should have happened because the player was already down on the ground with a defender making contact.

Blair looked like a high grade MCL sprain from the way the knee bent. Whether he took out other ligaments is less certain and will need an MRI. Time out will depend on how high grade that MCL sprain is.

Agreed, I was pissed when I saw that, I love KJ Wright but that was a bone headed and unnecessary attempt at a tackle, I know he didn’t mean to hurt Blair but that’s what happens when you fly into a play late not even looking at what you’re hitting.

He could have looked at what he was hitting, he ducked his head and went right into Blair’s knee.

We have a habit of playing to and sometimes through, if not past, the whistle.

It burned us.

And yes, you need to see what you are hitting. There is zero excuse for diving in to make a big hit and not seeing what you are hitting. Especially if you might be diving on a pile.

I saw it a few times last night and it ended up injuring someone on our own team. If that is an offensive player he hits, that is a flag. Instead he potentially blows out a teammate's knee.

There is no excuse for that.

That is the problem Soulfish.

He didn't know it was a teammate because he could not see what he was hitting. If he could, he would notice an offensive player on the ground already. It wasn't like he was in midair and suddenly our guy got in front of him.

Just because a whistle blows doesn’t mean a guy can stop his movement immediately. Momentum plays a huge part in this.

He launches while the opposing player is on the ground. The problem was not that he could not stop in time. He doesn't seem to even make an effort to avoid the hit. He could not see his target.

I like KJ. But that was on him. It has nothing to do with the whistle (even though if he hits the opposing player first it is a late hit), it is all about not seeing what you are hitting. Though a tendency to play through the whistle does not help things.

We will agree to disagree. I think it was a foolish mistake due to an increasingly bad habit by our defense (see #37 getting ejected).

He ducked his head and didn’t even look, to be honest he pretty much completely missed the tackle attempt and instead went straight into Blair’s knee. Heads up football is a basic thing now days, no one is trying to say you have to matrix anything. If you keep your eyes on your target you don’t go right into Blair’s knee like that and miss the tackle.
