He is not so amazing that I would be sad if he left. Some new creativity might even be helpful (ala quinn on D). My feeling on bevell is that the players have made him look good, not the other way around. Thats probably not what you want in a HC?

Bevell can be creative when given the players. My problem with him is his in-game adjustments, seems like he takes too long to switch things up when something's not working.

Like the Colts game when we just kept pounding the rock when it obviously wasn't working on 1st down. Which led to too many 2nd and 3rd in longs, which is why Russell was running for his life the entire game. I would have liked to see more creative series called in the 2nd half to stop Indy from stacking the box to stop Lynch.

I have no idea about Bevell's leadership ability either, seems like a pretty subdued guy........which might work against him when his team need motivating.

Great play caller on anything other than plays where we require 1 yard or less

Amen.

Running a QB sneak with a 5'11" 200 lb QB? If you're gonna do that, do a naked bootleg or something and just let Russell outrun the DE. But a sneak up the middle? Holy crap that's bad play calling.

That was its brilliance. If it had been blocked properly nobody would have been able to find him. Because he is little.

Backup offensive lineman + small QB + very stout Arizona D-Line = stupid.

This. They also lined up with no one in the backfield, making it even more obvious that they were either doing a QB Sneak or they were going to try and boot RW out.

In chat I called it a QB Obvious, because there's nothing sneaky if they know he's going to run it himself.

Yep.

Not to mention you don't want your franchise QB trying to smash his way under a pile of 300+ lb linemen. Didn't Hasselbeck get hurt a few years ago on a QB sneak trying to get into the endzone or something?

I won't go as far as to say I'd be happy to see him go because we have a really good thing going on right now. But I'd much prefer he be the one that gets poached this year versus Quinn.

Our defense has saved his ass on many occasions. While he had the best game of play calling I've seen from him in the Russell Wilson era last night, we need to see a lot more of that from him before that article's assertion can be realistically true, IMO.
He had two interviews last year for HC vacancies, so it is certainly true that we can expect him to get more this year.

If he goes, just bring in someone who is more creative. I personally would try to get Sark from UW for the job.

I dunno about Sark, but Lane Kiffin's looking for work!

No such thing as a perfect OC or playcaller.

Everyone assumes the players make Bevell. Nobody considers that he might've had a major impact.

He had a considerable impact in a positive way last night. I was thrilled with the calls on our first two drives. I've never seen him start off with such unexpected brilliance, and I am NOT saying that because most of the plays worked. What do you think about the first two drives in particular, as regards to play calling? I'm curious to know your thoughts on it.

I hated the (empty BF) sneak, but not as much as I hated the (successful) pass on 3rd and goal from the 6" line. Uncertain IF ML gave Bevell the finger or not, but I know 100% for certain I did...and continue to do so.

OMG I can only pray a good OC will get fired this offseason and we can swoop him up to replace this turd.

I'm a UW fan and I'm not impressed by Sark's playcalling. Bevell > Sark and I'm not the biggest Bevell fan.

18-7 in last 25 games
OC for offense that set NFL record
Developed Read-option offense requested by first year QB rather than let his superior 'genius' take hold and deny a 'gimmick'.
Worked with rookie who would tie NFL record for most TD passes while on run-first team

Seahawks fans: WE CAN DO BETTER!!!!!

Yeah, I wonder why other teams want this guy. He looks like a chump.

God, I am glad I just generally support Seahawks O & D co-ordinators.

The second-guessing seems like too much work, to me.

I have problems with a call, here or there. But outside of Mora and Knapp, I don't recall ever berating a coach in this franchise's history.

Wilson has been the difference, and is the reason Bevell is now a HC candidate.

We had many of the same players on offense in previous years, and we were garbage on O. No one talked about bevell during the year of TJack.

If he goes somewhere with an elite QB, he will be OK i guess.
