It's like we all forget that we took Denver's 1s to the woodshed just a month ago. Yeah, yeah, it was the pre-season, but Peyton played the first half and didn't look like he was hiding anything. He clearly wanted to test our defense, and we beat 'em up pretty good anyway.

It was the preseason. Every team hides everything, except for the Packers. Everything was vanilla.

For the record, that game was IN Seattle, and Manning went 11/16 for 163 yards and a TD, and he only played a quarter and a half. It's not like we bottled him up or anything.

And remember, the reason the scoreboard got so lopsided so quickly was the Kearse kickoff return followed by the Broncos fumbling the ball at our 1 into the end zone and Browner returning it for another score.

Honestly, the lack of objectivity here is striking sometimes.

i think it comes down to, is their offense better than our defense, no question our offense is better than their defense.

If our defense comes out and plays at the level they're capable, we beat denver because we can score on that defense. their offense is better than ours, but our defense is just as good.
Defense wins. Almost always!

I'm glad you could make sense of that, now that i re-read my post, i'm thouroughly confused.. jeeeesh.

but you got the jist...

It was 33-7 in the first half. Takeaways are not pure happenstance as demonstrated by Seattle continuing to be at or near the top of the league in that category. And I'm not sure what game you were watching if you thought Peyton came out vanilla. He used audibles throughout the first half. If it was in any way vanilla, it was because he was reacting to vanilla defensive schemes.

Peyton Manning, in my eyes, is the final test that this defense has to face before it becomes historic. It's beaten every other elite QB out there, and that was with less talent than we have now.

If we don't get to play against him in the Super Bowl this year, I think that window might be gone for good. He's getting old, he'll probably start losing a step next year, so even if we play him in the regular season in 2014 it probably won't be a true test. I was hoping we'd play Denver in the regular season this year, but no go.

Why would you think that was possible? The AFC rotation is set in stone and we played the AFC West back in 2010.

I was thinking the same thing. If we do play the Broncos in the Superb Owl though, it's going to be cold cold cold. You know what that means for PeyPey.

a) I don't have how they calculate the scheduling memorized.
b) You don't have to give such a prick response.
c) We played Jacksonville @ Seattle in 2009, then we played them @ Seattle again four years later. Four years later for the Broncos in 2010 would be, gasp, 2014. I also never looked up when the schedule resets; when they set the last set. Also, as an aside, if Peyton didn't sign with the Seahawks, I wanted to play against him regardless of who he ended up signing with before he ended up choosing Denver.

Jesus.

KC defense is pretty good but their QB is Alex Smith. Stop Charles and its over for their offense.
