Even though at the time there wasn't FA, Could we consider Largent a FA? We certainly didn't draft him...(ok...they(Oilers) didn't cut him; but we're gonna).
Anyways...I'm gonna say Engram and Brown were pretty good.

I can not see comparing Largent and JJ for even one year. Did not mean my comment as an attack. If it was taken that way I apologize. Been a fan most of my 43 years and been hear since what was it Seahawks98 or 99. Other than Maybe Tez I just always loved watching Largent, Meet him once and he was a stand up man and that just made me like him even more.

My vote for Chad Brown. He was a solid player and seldom injured. I would keep am eye on Zack Miller... I think he will have a great year.

Not only are those my favorite free agents as well but two of my favorite seahawks of all time. Probably both in my top 8. Good call!!

As far as the original question . . . How about the guy who is three years with the team had over 5000 yards from scrimmage and scored over 25 TD's while pretty much single handedly carrying some really bad Seahawks offenses?

I'd put Ricky Watters at the top of the list, followed by Brown.

I'd have to say Chad Brown too. Another one that was not the best but maybe most surprising at least for one year was Mike Williams. Nate Odomes was definitely the worst FA signing.

Brandon Browner is the most fun fun (yes double fun) to watch free agent we've picked up in the last decade easy. And since I've only been watching football around that long, that's who I have to go for. He might not be the best free agent in terms of ability that we've picked up in that time (I have to give that to Julian Peterson).

But I watch the sport to enjoy it, and boy do I enjoy watching BB nail wide receivers time after time after time

Yeah, Running Watters was the first to come to my mind. But I did miss much of the '05 season.

Chad Brown. Most people think of him in a Seahawk uniform when they think of him. For a free agent signing, especially one coming from a high-profile team like the Steelers, that is a good sign that he played amazingly while here.

I'd take him over even Largent

Then either you're 15 years old or never watched football till the 1990s

been here since 2009 and you still dont know the radish :141847_bnono:

I think the confusion happened when Les forgot to add his glorious signature: :les:

It threw me off too!

Steve Largent was not a free agent pick up. He was acquired via a trade with the Oilers. So he's not the best free agent pickup ever. However, he is the best player ever to wear the Seahawk blue (IMO).

2nd best, and even that is debatable IMO.
Concur. I think Big Walt was the best Hawk ever but really you can't go wrong with either choice.

As for Joe J., helluva a season and don't forget he was an excellent downfield blocker which was important for a guy like Alexander who had great vision but average top end speed. Guys like Joe had to hold their blocks downfield longer in order for SA to get in some of those long runs.

Best FA is a real tough choice between Randle, Brown and Browner. I do think Percy ends up easily winning that title before all is said and done though.

Dave Kreig......:)

John Randle

Ricky Watters (how did I not think of him?)

Sorry, les, but JoeJ is kind of far down on my list.

None of our current FA acqs have enough time on the team to make the cut IMHO.

Before I even opened this thread, I thought Chad Brown, so I have to stick with that.

Warmed my heart to see that Odomes (did he ever play a down for Seattle? He def played some hoops...) and K-mart were mentioned!

BUT

I gotta go with:

Farrell Edmunds, TE

I think Joe J leaving to Cleveland was arguably as damaging to the team at the time as letting Hutch go. Dead serious.

Those two leaving in the same offseason = brutal. Though at least Joe J did it because he wanted to play closer to home. Hutch did it because of 1) Ruskell being a complete (rhymes with duck) and 2) Because he was also a jackass.
