What no love for Franco Harris?

Going back though and not as recognised House Ballard was a steady force for us for a while even basically playing on one leg most the time when we really needed it. I also liked Nesby Glasgow
and Robert Blackmen.

We can talk about receivers all you want but if I had my choice of all time receivers we've had I'd take him over even Largent.

over even Largent.

I think Joe J leaving to Cleveland was arguably as damaging to the team at the time as letting Hutch go. Dead serious.

Those two leaving in the same offseason = brutal. Though at least Joe J did it because he wanted to play closer to home. Hutch did it because of 1) Ruskell being a complete (rhymes with duck) and 2) Because he was also a jackass.
Agree on all accounts.

I am the proud owner of a Joe Jervicius Seahawk jersey. He was an absolute boss that season. I totally agree with that punk kid Radish.

The reason things turned sour after the Super Bowl wasnt JJ. And losing Hutch hurt a lot more. But it was the "no show" of Alexander. yes, he hurt his foot. But after that big year, he was aweful. And Hasselbeck just wasnt a great QB on 2nd and 3rd and longs, when D's knew they were passing. We lost our balance. JJ on the roster wouldnt have made any difference. Alexander from 2005 would have.

Reading that people think JJ had a better season than Largent ever had is worse than all those people that wanted Morris over Alexander. Too many people root for the underdogs instead of the obvious. I want to play fantasy football with these characters, or maybe book for them. I have some DVD's of old games from the 70's and 80's if anyone wants copies. Watch how great Largent was. After you're memory is refreshed, I'm sure you'll back down from these rediculous "JJ had the best season ever for a WR" comments. Just because Largent is a HOFer, don't take him for granted. I can deal with people debating our best RB ever, or whether Sherman or Browner is better. But cmon, Largent is in the top 10 WRs of ALL TIME. If I had to take only 2 ever, It would be Jerry Rice and Largent(as all Seahawk fans should feel :).

In terms of value I gotta go with Engram, I remember the Bears cut him either right before or during the season and we picked him up on a one year deal, ended up being a long term fixture here. Great pickup.

I agree with Brown/Randle.

Sidney Rice will end up being the best ever. Yes, those that remember I'm saying it. I think Percy will enable that to happen.

I'm not sure Rice was even the best pickup in his CLASS. Rice was injured his first year and even last year, I felt Miller was more valuable.

Moon was another nice pick up. I had high hopes for the team the year Moon got hurt in that KC rainstorm game, off a fluke players slipping, missed handoff kind of play. He threw some pretty deep bals to McKnight and Galloway.
Actually, Erickson brought iun some nice players. Watters, Darrin Smith was another real good LBer

Patrick Kerney has to be up there. That year with multiple 3 sack games, 2nd in the DPOY, he was straight up unblockable. So much fun to watch him that year devour tackles. Felt so sure that he was gonna get the sack every third and long, and he usually did. Ruskell got that one right. If we could add a Patrick Kerney to this team, that would be the missing piece.

Steve Largent was not a free agent pick up. He was acquired via a trade with the Oilers. So he's not the best free agent pickup ever. However, he is the best player ever to wear the Seahawk blue (IMO).

Exactly right, Steve Largent was a fourth round pick by the Houston Oilers and they traded him to Seattle for
an eighth round pick. Yes, they had eight rounds in those days.
They traded him before he got out his rookie training camp. Bum Phillips said years later that it was the
worst trade he ever made.

I know he's not the best FA pickup by any means, but Levon Kirkland had over 100 tackles in 2001 to lead the team. I remembered being exciting when he came to Seattle. Too bad he was past his prime.

Well I would have to say Dave Kreig was the greatest FA. He was an undrafted FA out of Milton College. JJ and all the others mentioned had a year or 2 success. DK ranks in the top 10 of our best hawk players of all time. Not GREAT but very good for a lot of years.

You own his jersey and yet you can't even spell his name right?! Disrespect. If you weren't a lovely Canadian I'd call you a bum in my best New Yawk accent right now. You're right though, this Radish kid needs to get with the program.

I gotta go with Ricky Running Waters. One of my favorite players of all-time for some reason.

Hmmmm. You're right, I always consider him a "walk on", but technically he was a FA signing.

Long career, most important position.

Winner.

:p :thirishdrinkers: Yea I think alot of people dont think about Dave. They only think about aquisitions who played at other teams. But Dave was a FA and the best we ever have had.
