Weren't they all excited at one point about Battle?

I think they still may be, and likely will try to sneak him back to the practice squad.

I agree and we will see what happens if/or after he clears waivers.

At the risk of hurting Jeremy Lanes feelings, we can't even give him away. The reason for his rejection in the deal was his failure to clear a physical, which is why we have been trying to find some trade value in him since preseason and before.
I hate to see a player like Battle, who was coming right along for us, get sent packing in his place.

I was so bummed to hear about the deal with Jeremy going south. It's not that I have it in for him, it's just that I've lost faith in his ability to get and stay healthy, and more importantly his insistence on wanting to first string a position that he failed to earn through competition and for which he has repeatedly proven that he's not the guy for the job.

In his last play opportunity, Jeremy gave the Texans the much needed 1st and 10 they needed to keep their series alive, and then if I'm not completely mistaken, on the very next play, he couldn't keep up with his pass coverage, which is supposedly his strong suit, and was flagged for pass interference on the goal line, resulting in a 1st and goal for the Texans, that set them up for a touch down a play or two later in the game.

You'd think based on that performance, the Texans would have done anything in their power to keep Jeremy in Seattle and pray that he plays for us the next time we face them, LMAO.

I don't recall seeing Jeremy in the game anymore after that. Pete said something about he complained of yet another injury and had to pull him out of the game. I guess to try and save face and solicit some trade value for him at the same time. It almost worked, damn, now we have him back warming up the bench and taking up much needed cap monies, and to top it off we have to trash can some other players career, who did nothing except be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Everything about this deal sucks, except that we got the Duane Brown deal sealed, which was worth anything and everything we had to give for him. I don't know what Jeremy Lanes future holds but my tea leaf reading sees him history at the first possible opportunity. That is of course unless some miracle occurs, he gets healthy and reaches new levels of athletic performance unlike anything we have ever seen from him, because even at this best, he's no Shaquill Griffin :).

Go Seahawks !

Think we still could potentially see him back here on the PS before the end of the season.

This may explain why Battle was the one to get released:

According to HawkBlogger's Seahawks cap expert Evan Hill, the Seahawks saved a grand total of $285,000 of their books by shedding Battle's contract, because he's not a vested veteran with a completely-guaranteed contract, as third-year player out of Clemson. When adding the figure to their current cap number, they now have $885,000 to get them through the back half of the 2017 season.

He's a developmental OT at anyrate and more suited to the pS until he bulks up a bit. I suspect the team likes him and liked him enough to trade for him. It was a conditional trade so that may factor into the calculations as well.
