Funny how just a few years ago so many on this board were clamoring for us to draft him in the first round. Now, he's traded to Arizona for a conditional 7th rounder. This guy's stock sure dropped in a hurry.

Nuts was hoping the Hawks would pick him up after he got cut by Philly, or trade for him.

Meh....

I guess if we don't like what we see we can have him on the roster for 5 weeks, cut him and lose nothing.

Okay let's be honest. This guy might be starting for you in 5 weeks. You should start talking him up now so you don't look like a fool later ;)

Boy has he fallen. He looked good in the first preseason game, but then not so much. I was all on the Blow for Barkley campaign.....before I saw how Russell turned out.

If you're Arizona, why not. Low cost and he might fit in Arians offense better than Kelly's. I don't think he's a world-beater but it's not a bad move.

Chip is looking for a read option type QB.. Barkley definitely isn't one, he's a pro-set style QB. Bet he flourishes in AZ.

After the Rams bash-in the knees of your legitimate starters, this prevents another full-on Lindley/Thomas scenario.

I don't know why, but I see Barkley as a guy who could probably still develop into something more than what he is. Wasn't he touted as a sure fire 1st rounder until he messed up his arm? If that arm is back to being right, and he can get with a good system I think things would be on the up and up for him, but thats just me.

No way. If you've read any of the other threads, you know that players can't develop into better players. They are what they are and do not improve. Duh.

Cards made this move because they know there's at least an outside shot they'll have to rely on QB3 again.

FWIW, I still think Barkley can be a Brad Johnson-type QB: marginal physical talent, but smart and consistent with good leadership traits.
