Seahawks don't throw to TEs so it doesn't matter. We'll win anyway though.

Honest question. What team actually does cover receiving TE's well?

The Seahawks

You should see the board the week before we play one. It's mentioned constantly as our "biggest weakness". I'm really not aware of any teams that are good at it, as an athletic receiving TE is such an inherent mismatch for pretty much every team.

I want to say Tennessee, Zach Brown is a stud in that regard.

Irvin would be great for this with his size, length, athleticism plus experience as a safety.

You might not see it from his WVU film because he wasn't coached well and all he was asked to do was pin his ears back and eat QB and watch outside contain at times.

But Irvin works well in space and is very good at working though the trash. However, when he's asked to take a blocker straight on he 's can easily be swallowed up and taken out of the play. I don't think Irvin was the one trick pony everyone had assume. He just wasn't asked or challenged to do anything else.

I don't want to give Irvin too much credit because I don't know his assignments on the field, but at SAM, Irvin usually plays over the side with the TE, right? So after Houston gashed us big time with their TEs, Irvin comes back, and the Colts with Fleener and the Titans with Delanie Walker get shutdown.

I think the Seahawks got something brewing.

I wouldn't mind seeig browner on graham, he has the size and speed to handle Graham, not sure how they would work that out, you know Sherman will be on Colston... I think if we try to match up a linebacker or Kam on him, it's going to be a long day back there.

We don't throw to nor cover TE's. This thread is moot. Miller will be blocking due to the fact that our O-line is abysmal especially at the guard position.

See what i mean? Very few teams cover receiving TE's well. And those that do have many more holes in their defenses than the Seahawks do.

Last time Zack was on the field I watched him pick up two touchdowns off of two of the coldest fakes ever.

There's something to be said for drafting a guy who's highly athletic and versital.

Seriously, they are. This year, here are the combined stats of opposing QBs when throwing to TEs:

26-46 for 280 yards (56.5% completion rate, 6.1 YPA), 1 TD and 5 INTs.

If this fan base sees just one or two TEs have a DECENT game out of the six games we've played, then they assume it's this chronic problem. Never mind that the other four TEs were shut down or the fact that we might be schemed to give up those plays on occasion.
