Not going to get into Atlanta not being great or not but would like to discuss their style of play instead.

I stated before the second 49ers game that Kapernick was a better matchup for us compared to Alex Smith. In the first game 49ers owned the ball in the second half. Short and medium passes eating clock and draining our defense. We haven't been good about that style all year. This is what the redskins did the first two drives....

Atlanta plays a vertical game and not very good at power football running the ball.

So better matchup with our corners, faster game?

I like our chances Ryan is a statue, our defense first quarter aside did what theve done all year take away the run and make plays in the secondary and get to the QB and it will be alot easier against a pure pocket passer. Once we shut down the running game the game is over.

I agree. I think we match up very well to the Falcons. It's gonna be another great game no matter what. (I just hope we don't get down 14-0 again tho).

The matchup of our defense against the Falcons offense looks good on paper, but it reminds me a lot of the Lions game. We were all fairly confident that our defense could stop them, and Sherman did well against Megatron, but Stafford (a pocket QB like Ryan) still torched us. I worry about the same thing happening again. The Falcons have other receivers besides Julio Jones and Roddy White.

However, I like our offense against their defense.

Well I am not a fan of our pass rush without Jones and potentially Clemons. Our DBs can't cover all day.

Michael Turner isn't the RB he was a few seasons ago but their WR are legit. I think Sherm and Julio Jones will be a great match up while I am sorta nervous for Roddy White on BB. Brandon looked pretty sluggish out there against lesser WR so hopefully that had more to do with the field conditions and shaking the rust off. Tony Gonzalez is a scary match up for anyone, so hopefully we have an answer there.

We are going to need to bring pressure. Matt Ryan isn't terrific with pressure in his face.

Offensively I think Marshawn will have a big game. Their are weak in the front 7 so hopefully the read option gets us some good plays. Their secondary is middle of the road so hopefully we can get some plays there.
