I know that I have very little interest in their games, but I believe what we need in our second round of next season is a replacement for Al Woods who is mid-thirties this season. I am curious if anyone has seen Siaki Ika play? He is a space eating nose tackle that has some pass rush moves. His bio says that he needs to get stronger and improve his technique, so maybe third round.

I think it'll come down to athletic testing at the combine and pro day to determine whether he is a two down run plugger type prospect like Danny Shelton or seen as a potential disruptive force if he were to test closer to Ngata, Davis, Vea.

I think he is solidly behind Carter, Bresee, Dexter as far as DT prospects go.

Might also be behind Tyler Davis (Clemson), also. BUT, Ika is a massive DT...so he's definitely a space eater.

The knock on Ika is that he a bit of a liability vs the run. He ends up on the ground too much as opposed to stacking and shedding. But yeah, he is athletic for as big as he is. Late 2nd or early 3rd and I would be cool drafting him there.

Watching him play today against OSU and I am not impressed. They are chipping him a bit and then it is mostly straight one on ones. He has not gotten much penetration at all on run plays.

I recommend watching Michigan DT/NT Mazi Smith. He should be our NT target in the draft.
