The Giants had 10 days off though.Sorry, but that’s an excuse. The game on September 30 against Detroit and then the game against the Giants on October 6 were six days apart, which is not that unusual and they lost both of them. Only the 49er game can be mentioned as an excuse.
There are 16 Thursday night games meaning that most if not all of these teams will get 10 days off so it’s really not unusual at all.The Giants had 10 days off though.
That's kinda unusual.
Nobody is using it as an excuse against the 49ers. They played basically the same schedule(3 games in 12 days) it's just that they're pretty good.
A lot of posters have been in "the sky is falling" mode all week when we lost to 2 really good teams that met in the NFCCG last season & another not so great team where, unfortunately the schedule was against us &, although we didn't play well, the game really should have gone to OT if not for something unusual happening.
Sure, 10 days off for a team following a Thursday night game is fairly standard around the league. But how many of those Thursday night games were the third contest within 11 days for a given team? I think that's what the OP was going for here. There are 16 Thursday night games meaning that most if not all of these teams will get 10 days off so it’s really not unusual at all.
Growing pains, I agree with, the three games in 11 days I do not. Again, the first game against Detroit they were on eight days rest (no schedule excuse). The second game home against the Giants, they were on six days rest (no schedule excuse). Those two games had nothing to do with a shortened schedule. The third game against the 49ers four days later, they were beat by a clearly better opponent that was on their 3rd game in 12 days. Its absurd that people call not getting rest and prep time for a team 4 weeks into learning a new scheme, with new coaches, new practice methodology, and with multiple starters unavailable an excuse.
3 games in 12 days for a 9ers team with an established roster, scheme, players, coaches and experience together is vastly different than the circumstances the Seahawks dealt with. Its not an exuse. Its fact.
And the fact that they went across country and handled business against a good team as convincingly as they did is proof that the string of losses were less indicative of a average or poor team tham it is was growing pains for a team thats actually prettyy good.
Good call. He def. has some juice. I was also impressed with Jurrell. Sure didn't look like a guy making his NFL debut, let alone a 4th stringer. I hope Coach Mike leaves him at RT. He clearly looked like the best option until of IF Lucas ever comes back. How about our newly acquired DE Roy Robertson-Harris. Looked good out there today.
Of course they will call it an excuse. They can do so without actually having to play that many NFL games in a short span. Clearly a couch surfer calling out what he sees from the comfort of his rump. Its absurd that people call not getting rest and prep time for a team 4 weeks into learning a new scheme, with new coaches, new practice methodology, and with multiple starters unavailable an excuse.

A team playing on 10 days rest playing a team on 6 days is unusual & should never happen to any team. Ever. There are 16 Thursday night games meaning that most if not all of these teams will get 10 days off so it’s really not unusual at all.
Exactly. If it wasn't a think why do schedule analyzers look for anomalies like that when schedules come out to see where certain teams have more bad matchups?A team playing on 10 days rest playing a team on 6 days is unusual & should never happen to any team. Ever.
You also forgot the entire DL being out for injury.Sorry, but that’s an excuse. The game on September 30 against Detroit was with 8 days rest and then the game against the Giants on October 6 was 6 days later which is not that unusual and they lost both of them. Only the 49er game can be mentioned as an excuse but really not because the Niners were on the same stretch of days off except they played 3 games in 12 days. Lack of rest was not the issue.

Growing pains, yes. Schedule no.
