Per Cabot, Highsmith’s exact title is to be determined but he is in Indianapolis at the Scouting Combine wearing Seahawks gear. Scott Fitterer and Trent Kirchner are co-directors of player personnel for the Seahawks.

UPDATE 8:31 a.m. ET: Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Highsmith and former Browns assistant G.M. Eliot Wolf are working as consultants during the draft process for Seattle. Wolf worked with both Highsmith and Schneider in Green Bay.

Browns have found some decent players but never got anything out of them. Wouldnt be shocked if Ogbah joins us now. Would love the guard Bitonio on our OL.

Both new guys sound like they will be here longer than just the draft process. Be interesting to see how that plays out with the incumbents, cant hurt to keep people on their toes.

They have gotten decent players but had a mediocre if not lesser than training methodology. With a coaching staff that understands the rules and mentorship by those leaders on the team that make you better, They can become the player they were meant to become.

I just thought it was interesting where we got our new guys.

These guys were with the Packers before the Browns..I welcome the change.
I haven't been impressed with many of the players JS has Drafted.
This can only help.

Is it common for teams to bring in consultants in this way?

I wonder how much influence they will have on the decisions being made.

Great move. Should help prevent bonehead draft picks and ensure we at least get players with physical talent and enough smarts to play the game. Highsmith as a younger guy should have better current contacts and knowledge of rookie prospects. We'll see what Wolf adds, don't know much about him.

I really like it. I thought Dorsey was putting together a stellar group out in Cleveland. His downfall was due to his coach, plain and simple.

Nice score for Pete and John.

Shoot, the Browns have put together a ridiculous amount of talent. There are many other reasons that team keeps failing. I don't see this as some negative just because he was with the Browns.

This is exactly my thought. I wonder if the culture over there is detrimental to them actually doing well. Maybe it is a coaching carousel that is creating bad vibes and a lack of capable teamwork. I dunno.
