On his way to the Hawks for covid testing and signing. Can't hurt, I wonder if he can play Rt Tackle..

Alex Boone. Interesting move... hasn't played in a few years. I think he was a guard then too.

The team is thin at OT, and finding guys who are adequate means scraping the barrel. He was adequate but that was some while ago. interesting he now wants to play again. Think we are going to see one or two of our OLinemen go on IR.

How about another teams practice squad player instead of a retired player. You’d think the PS player would be ready to go physically and COVID ready.

I will take a retired stud before trying new any day. He is proven and can come in with the least amount of reps to show he at the very least is capable. He is more of a guard though. I've been saying kick lewis out to rt because he has the feet to do it. Let Boone play rg.

Sorry but I only see Lewis as a guard. Does not at all have a tackle body.

Body type doesnt make the player. I agree...why mess with something that is working... but I'm telling you of all our lineman...he is the most capable to play that position.

Eh. He's short, has short arms, and isn't especially quick.. I'd rather swing Jamarco out and let come what may. Don't forget, moving Lewis would not only possibly make right tackle less effective vs. letting Jamarco play RT, but would also certainly make RG worse because he's a Pro Bowl level player there.

Putting to much into body type versus skill of the player. Jones may have came in the league as a tackle, with longer arms, but is now a guard and also way slower than lewis. I dont care if he is considered browns backup. Jones has been playing guard there and has shown where he fits.

I agree though to putting jones out there. I'm just saying if we nab Boone and want to play our five best heathly lineman....that is the way to do it.

Oh a lewis will be pro bowl level where ever he plays. He is that good.

Right now, he's practice squad filler. With any luck, he'll never see the field for us.

I'm real high on Lewis too and I think your right..He can play tackle and I
believe he would do it well..He is that good with the body he has.

I think you're right that this is due diligence for a playoff run under covid. Should we lose a tackle, we wouldn't have time to get somebody through the protocols for the next game, so whoever is on our practice squad will be it. It's not about long-term development and upside here but only a potential emergency backup and so the veteran makes a lot more sense than a young guy with no experience would.
