$120 million for 4 years. Too much? $76 million guaranteed, so a possible out after 2 years.

When CMC gets inevitably hurt from playing every down like they do with him, it's gonna be rough for the 49ers. I hate to say it, but their overuse of that guy, might be the one weakness, cuz they way they use him, I think it's better than 50% he gets taken out before the season is over. Still they have guys who can run it nearly as well.

I'm bummed they kept Aiyuk though, not good for us.

Like a recent article on Fieldgulls, SF reaching an agreement with Aiyuk is kind of a good deal. It further makes their cap a complicated one. They're going to have to deal with Purdy next year to add to all these high priced contracts they're dealing with.
The article also made the observation that IF the 49ers would've been able to deal Aiyuk , they would've gotten a massive haul in draft capitol.

Not a good thing.

A second and a third was rumored and the 3rd was rumored to wanted to be flipped for a wR. I am happier with Aiyuk

I disagree with this. I do agree that they need to use him less, however I am not as concerned if he goes down. 49ers have proved that the system allows for great running production regardless of who that was. I also really bullish on Jordan Mason, his primary back up.

George Kittle, Deebo, Trent Williams injuries hurt the team more.

I would be happier as well if I were a SF fan.

But I'm pretty happy SF is going towards cap HELL 😈

Only matters if you miss on draft picks. 2024 draft class looks really good but it's early. 2023 was decent. 2022 was terrible

The numbers aren't really as high as they're being reported. Devonta Smith is due $68.737M over 4 years but there are no easy outs for the Eagles. The 5th year at $24M looks potentially cheap. Waddle is getting $77.319M over 4 years for practical purposes with a non-guaranteed 5th year at $27M. Amon-Ra St. Brown is getting $63.386M over 3 years and $23.98M in year 4. Technically he has $7.417M of year 4 guaranteed should he be cut after year 3. There's also a $35M+ non-guaranteed salary in year 5. Aiyuk's 3 year maximum total is $76M. The no guarantee 4th year is $28.124M, ($104.124M total). The no guarantee 5th year is for $30M. It's a lot more than some other big name WR have gotten, but it's not $30M per year in real terms.

Yeah SF definitely has been drafting well. I really hope your 2024 class sucks 😆.
