Defensive Stats after Week 1...I wanted to see this and figured others might want to see them as well. These tell a story, but not a full story. Certainly more meaningful as the season goes on and doesn't provide deep insights into any area outside of total D. I tried to find defensive 3-out, but not readily available.

For now, I think the story is:
What we saw from the D showed up on the stat sheet.
Hawks had the most consistenly good D for week 1 in the NFCW.
Confirms MM's D is working, at least for now.

Notes for color:
Rams & Cards probably had the tougher draws week 1.
Our D Yards would have been top 5 YDS w/o the Nix run. It happened, but just sayin'.
D gave up 6 points. O Gave up 10 Points. 6 points would be tied for #1 (Minnesota)

Opponent Third Down Conversion Percentage
(stats conflicted on 2 sites. I thought the niners did better than what it says against the Jets)
Sea 27.78%
Cards 33.33%
Rams 46.15%
9ers 60.00%

Points Against Rank
Sea - 8

Run Yards Rank
9ers - 2

Perhaps you might want to let things play out for a few weeks before comparing defenses? Hawks D looked awesome but it was against the 26th ranked offense starting a rookie qb. Got to let things play out for a few weeks to get the whole picture together . If the Seahawks still have great numbers after the week 3 test against Miami , then you got something

Also 49ers were blowing out the Jets and allowed a lot of yards in garbage time . It’s got to all play out for a few weeks

Also rather than just ints you probably should have total turnovers

I don’t see anyone saying this is an end all rating here. It’s week 1 and everyone knows it. Even the OP said that we had an easier draw as far as matchups. I do find it ironic though that you say it’s too early to compare defenses then say we only played the 26th ranked offense. After week 1 all offenses are ranked where they are due to the defense they played. Just like all defenses will be ranked by the one team they played. I don’t look at these numbers and say our defense will be the best in the West this year, but it’s fun to see the stats each week and watch them move up and down the rankings.

Or..you could contribute to the thread rather than whining about it. Well...whiner fits I guess.

Feel free to post any stats you think would be good for others to know. Just remember, it's only week 1.

Perhaps you might want to let things play out for a few weeks before comparing defenses?
Or...I might not want to. Which did I choose?

Did I state that in the OP...yea, I did. Doesn't mean the stats posted have no value. They still tell a story.

If the Seahawks still have great numbers after the week 3 test against Miami , then you got something

Also 49ers were blowing out the Jets and allowed a lot of yards in garbage time . It’s got to all play out for a few weeks
The sub-conscious comes out. Don't be butt hurt...it's only week 1. Stats don't mean that much.

Or...we do what we want on our board.

Yup…at this point…the Niners are still the bad boys on the block

Honestly let us have this excitement, it's been years since we've seen such a dominant performance by the Seahawks D, especially after the last few years of being ranked towards the bottom in the league.

Let us have this moment.

I said they looked awesome and they did. It will be interesting to see how far they can improve this year

That’s even worse since there is loss of players and additions of players, week 1 of this season really has absolutely nothing to do with last years ranking. All teams start fresh and rankings will be updated every week of this year which was kind of the point of this thread

Not to mention their QB was washed.

The small sample size of one game is too early to tell. Remember, teams usually get better as the season rolls along. Not sure if Denver will be a great offensive team but Seattle will get “tested” by some more experienced prolific offenses. Take this first game and set aside until we get more games to figure and analyze the defensive.

You're one to talk bro. Your team was going against a 40 something year Rodgers. Your D should have had better numbers. Before you start talking shit about the hawks look at your own team.

Niners are still the best team in the NFC. And there's no secret how I feel about them. Until someone knocks them off, they are the team to beat in the NFC.

Now, I'm gonna' go throw up.
