And don't forget Arroyo, I really think he takes another step next year. Heck after typing that maybe we have a little Patriots offense when they had Gronk and Hernandez. Not saying our guys are those two but they don't need to be with JSN, Horton etc. Interested in how this plays out!
Didn't they both have TDs in the Washington game and both got hurt after that? I know it was just the Washington D but wow our O was firing on all cylinders that day

It was a mistake to sign Kupp, and a mistake to keep him, but it's Schneider's mistake to make
If it was a mistake, they wouldn't have let his contract vest and turn into 9M guaranteed today. Kupp is an asset to this team and JSN himself said that he wouldn't have been able to do what he did this year without him. For unlocking JSN god mode he's been worth it alone. If you disagree then you disagree with John and JSN among many others.

Perhaps I'm being a massive homer but with some of the coaches staying and guys like JSN already tweeting about going back to back. I wonder if any players take a discount or some vets rework their deals to give us more of an edge if they believe the core is there and can repeat.

GMs and HCs get things wrong on a regular basis. GMs disagree with other GMs all the time.

Doesn't happen as often as fans want. JS has been pretty good at formulating team friendly contracts that also keep the talent home, but this will be a challenging year. Agents see that SB ring and also start seeing $$$$$s.

You mean how they tried to lowball Golden Tate?

The Golden Tate situation was literally a direct result of trading for Harvin. When the Hawks traded for Harvin I even said at the time that it guaranteed Tate was a goner. The money (and then some) that *would* have gone to Tate was given to Harvin. It was a conscious decision on their part, as they felt they were getting a huge upgrade. By the time the season ended and it was clear they made the wrong choice, it was obviously too late. Harvin's contract meant that keeping Tate would require letting another guy from our defense walk, and they weren't going to do that.

According to what is being reported in this article, it sounds like Shaheed wants to run it back with the Seahawks or at the least open to it - https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...n&cvid=69964a92a792428d9255c5c7e7236d28&ei=20
Unfortunately it's a similar situation to Eugenio Suarez and the Mariners. Suarez played great...until he was traded to the Ms.
In 9 games with the Saints, Shaheed had 44 receptions. In 9 games with the Hawks he had 15 receptions. That's less than 2 per game, with an average of about 21 receiving yards. Pretty much all his stats dropped by 2/3 as a Hawk.

Shaheed's biggest impact was actually as a returner. Do the Hawks really want to pay Shaheed as a WR when he was mostly just a returner for the Hawks? Do they want to pay him based on his performance with the Saints, even though he severely underperformed as a Hawk?

Shaheed was outstanding as a returner, and I don't think anyone predicted that he would return 3 for TDs, but do we expect him to repeat that next year? The Hawks run a real risk of overpaying by 2x or more and then later having to take a dead cap hit to cut him.

Let him see what offers are out there, and if he's willing to come back on a reasonable deal, sure, but he shouldn't be a priority, nor should we offer a lot of money.

“Unless (Shaheed) just so values the winning component that you can get him without going to the top, top, top of the market, I think he’s going to have big offers elsewhere,” Jeremiah said. “And knowing the JSN price tag is coming, I think that one will be the most difficult to get done, even though he might stack up higher on the priority list.”

Meh. I'm hoping for the bolded but we'll see what happens....
I don't understand this take. Last year he had 92 targets and netted 687 yards. Three season ago was his best at 715 yards. That's not top of the market by a long shot.

He's shown his value as a returner, but he couldn't even overtake Kupp on the depth chart this past season. Would you give $30M/per for a return specialist?

Since I have not been placed back on the practice squad, I will no longer be available. The team will be supported by me, but I will not be within the organization. Thank you for your support.

Good time to be a free agent.
1. Shaheed: there is not many good young wide outs available and it could drive his price up.
2. Woolen: not many good young corners available also could drive his price up.
3. Walker: this in my opinion is a very good time for the SB MVP to make some cash. There are only maybe 3 total backs available in free agency this year that are legit, and walker could be the best of them.
Not so good time to be a free agent.
1. Bryant: over the last few years there has been some good safeties that haven't gotten what they anticipated in free agency example( Justin Simmons)
2. Mofe: he is young with upside, but there are some good vets that are free agents this year. Teams might not be willing to sign the young guy to a big deal when vet guys like Mack, Bosa, Phillips, Chub, and more are all available.
What i feel good about is letting the our free agent corners walk.
We will need to sign a vet corner guy. But this is the time to draft a cb.
Resign walker, like I mentioned above its a good time for him and with charbs hurt were gonna need him.
Shaheed if we can get him for a max of 7 mil a year, id say get it done. When we got him our offense generally got better.
Mafe, I think he test the market. If teams like the Chiefs don't pay him then he may come back on a 1 year prove it deal.
Bryant, could be the most important one to resign. He can play corner or safety. This solves the need to resign any of our free agent corners for the time being and would allow us to resign Okada and play Bryant at corner.

Will be interesting to see how this all plays out with the team being up for sale. Often when this happens teams dont like to give out large contracts but I wouldn't think thats the case here or at least I hope not. Hopefully it's business as usual.
