I might be the only person on this site who finds nothing wrong wit any of the Kapernick pictures.. Can somebody explain to me the significance of any of this, who the hell cares if he has a sneaker collection? Russell seems like a good guy, I dont get why some of you need to knock Kapernick just to praise Russell.

Between the Niner trolls and the obsession with Harbaugh/Kapernick the quality of the main forum is starting to go down imo.

These pictures in a vacuum of course mean nothing, however when you combine it with the other 2,498 douche moves of his it paints a clear picture.

The point of this thread is to illustrate the miles difference in maturity between the two. That is paying of for us already. Look what is happening to Kaperdouche when faced with a bit of adversity. He is crumbling like a deck of cards.

Exactly. This is a great comparison of character. Character and maturity combined with a great devotion to others and not just himself, make for a good man and leader. The others around a person like this see just how dedicated to everyone else he is, including his team.

In contrast, the pics of Kaep's pride in his life show one thing....Look At Me! I'm Great! Look What I have! Where here does it show his concern and devotion to others and not just himself?

I'd take the former any day of the week.

Anytime you hear from anybody that knows Kap, they can't stop gushing about what a good guy he is. Much maligned for all the tattoos he has. Yet every last one of them is biblical. I honestly think off the field he is a lot more like Russell than people want to think, just a few years behind on the maturity ladder.

I've never thought much of Kaep as a passer, but he's a really good kid. We waste far too much time trying to convince our fanbase that he isn't, solely because it helps our argument.

OK, so Colin Kaepernick is a normal 24 year old, while Russell Wilson is an extraordinary young man.
Kaep "crumble"? Puhleeez... Kaep was the 40-Whiners best player against the 'Hawks.
I got nothin' but respect for Kaepernick. The dude has heart.
Dude took the 49ers to the Super Bowl. Kaep played well enough to win it. He wasn't the one who gave up a 109 yard kickoff return. Nearly brought his team back from a big hole.
Would I trade Wilson for Kaep? Hell NO!!

If you look at Kaep as an every day 24 year old kid, there's nothing wrong with his photos. If you look at him as the FACE of the San Francisco 49ers, well then, there's a lot to be desired. I do think these sort of expectations are tough on someone who in any other profession (or heck, any other NFL position) would still be seen as a "kid," but that's the life of an NFL quarterback. He's leading an NFL franchise comprised of 52 other professional players and is responsible for setting an example for all of them. Fair? Personally, I don't think so, but that's the reality of his position.

Do we pass final judgment on a man's character, on and off the field, at age 24??? Hell NO!! (But 25, well now that's something else altogether! It's a quarter-century!)
Could Kaep stand to have some mentoring from someone who could mentor him in some finer points, on and off the field? Absolutely. Steve Young comes quickly to mind, and that Joe Montana fellow too.

The truth is, we have an extraordinary young man in Russell Wilson who DID get the mentoring, took the lessons to heart, and lived them. We are amazingly blessed to have him.

I think we've all met the Kaepernick personality before.

It's a pretty undesirable one, but too common. Take that personality and add fame and money and its insufferable.

But to me it's all part of the entertainment. I get to watch a man who has built him self up to be a god in his own mind have an epic collapse and fail.

To the guys saying athletes arent role models: get real. you dont get to choose if you are one or not. When you achieve a certain status, people will look up to you whether you like it or not. Its a responsibility that automatically comes with high profile success. You can reject that, and it may not make you a bad person but dont pretend it doesnt have repercussions.

To those just generally defending Kap.. seriously? If one of your close friends did something like post a picture of themselves with their freaking shoe collection, what would you say to them? When you put yourself in the company of Sarah Jessica Parker's fictional character and Imelda Marcos, you may want to re-evaluate your priorities.

And thats what it comes down to. Im not saying Kap is a bad guy.. but I respect the choices Wilson has made far more than Kap's.

We all eat and breathe, drink and laugh.. its the little things that sets certain people apart, its the little things that matter. None of if it is trivial and I for one think Wilson is an exception person, not just an exceptional athlete.

The one thing that jumped out at me from those pics is the one of RW on the beach with Ash. Look at how long his arms are and how big his hands are!! Holy Shit!

I could care less about Kap. Let him do as he wishes. Its his life. And he did have to work hard to get to where he's at. Personally, almost everything I've seen from him is "unprofessional"...but I'm not gonna bash him to much for that.

Yeah, he is a bit "douchey", but from all accounts, teammates/coaches etc. think highly of him.

I dont have a problem with CKs instagram pics or any of the "look at me" stuff. The guy isnt out getting DUIs, breaking bottles on teammates heads or shooting anyone. I get the feeling that CK is just having a lot of fun with his fame. RW is a totally different guy by nature. Completely different focus on things. CKs career could end Tonight for all he knows and he just seems to be enjoying it while he can.

He is promoting the glamor of a "thug life" type character, but he isn't necessarily a thug. Wilson is a rare character for his age. He seems to want to be a major impact on charity and community. A lot of players grow into the character that Wilson is, RW just got a big head start. If Wilson got injured this weekend and could never play again, he would have a ton of other things to be involved with the next day. RW is certainly living life for the long haul.

We are really lucky to have him here. I hope my little girl meets a guy like RW when she is older.
