A couple of things as they stand at 6 and 4

It looks like 30%-40% of us are glass half full (maybe not seeing clearly) and the other 60% - 70% are glass half empty. So here goes...and we've probably beat the following items to a pulp...but...
This team could be 4 and 6 or 8 and 2 based on a handful of plays. Football is like this sometimes.
The Rams game hurt. Yes they had a chance to win but they went down by too many points. They should have lost to the Chargers and Dallas. They got outplayed in those games. So they could easily be 8 and 2. But they're not.
All throughout the last 6 weeks and the ups and downs I still believe they will go to the playoffs.
They are 6 and 4 without Chancellor (playing but not the same), Wagner (wasn't he leading the league in tackles when he got hurt), Unger - 3 very important starters and a host of TE injuries.
We've already said this is very much like 2012 and I think we all think if we beat ATL at the end of 2012 season we would have won that SB also.

This week is the barometer for me. The next 2-4 weeks will be a roller coaster of emotions. I enjoy it either way (even though loses like Sunday make me feel on Monday like my dog died). I get angry, I yell at the TV.

But after the season is done...either way...what's the worst that happens...no playoffs and I watch last year's playoffs and XLVIII to cheer me up (which it will).

People just need to learn to kick back and let the completed season tell you the story. The championship isn't won in week 11.

I think the larger issue is what our eyes and our heads are telling us.

We know some of our important pieces are out or injured.

It also clearly is not the quality of football we are used to from 2012/2013 period. Then again, the Titans and Bucs games were not really great quality examples either and they happened around that period.

The funny thing is that people here seem to believe this is still a 9-10 win team, just that we shouldn't expect to go to the playoffs with 9-10 wins. The other funny thing is that before 2012, predicting 10 win seasons was "crazy". Hell, it was borderline crazy last year, yet they did it.

Here we have a team where 9-10 wins is a big disappointment. Apparently enough for people to take down their flags?!? (My Seahawk flag still flies win or lose...November or July...)

Just pointing out, it wasn't long ago where scratching our way to an 8 win season and a possible wildcard was a moment to celebrate. And we still have some amazing players on this team.

The games this season are relatively on Par with the "quality" games of Wilson's first two seasons. The difference is we're losing the close games. Winning the Super Bowl has really altered fans' memories of what transpired in many of those games.

This board was pretty angry after these games:

2012
At AZ
GB at Home (Special consideration as it was the Tate catch
At St Louis
At Carolina
At SF
At Detroit (We looked great, then lost)
At Miami (Lost, then the Sherman Browner suspension news dropped)

2013
At Carolina
At Indy
Titans at Home
At St. Louis
Bucs at Home
At SF
AZ at Home (First Wilson Home Loss)
Saints in Playoffs (We won, but could we beat SF?)

I'll comment on the "half full, half empty." Many use this as a way to categorize people as being negative or positive. I always say it depends. If the glass was full and now is half gone because I drank half,,,it is half empty. If the glass was only filled halfway to begin with and I have not drank any of it, its half full. Yes,,it is relative.

That said, I along with many thought we could be better this year than last. Not gonna go into depth for the many reasons we are not, but as of right now,,,,,,the glass is half empty. Still relative though,,,,,we win six in a row and have a 1 or 2 seed at the end off the season, I'm filling all my glasses with some good alcohol in celebration.

Only 5 teams in the NFC have better records than we do, and 4 of those teams are 7 and 3, one game ahead of us. This team can turn things around, but I think they need to get some players back and healthy for it to happen. It just sucks for us that the one team that is 9 and 1 is in our division. Winning our division games at this point is critical.

The good news: this team is good enough that going 12-4 wouldn't surprise me. I got beat up for projecting a 9-7 finish in my other thread but that's only based on how the team's been playing.

The bad news: after week 3 when we beat the broncos in overtime, this team just hasn't been great. our wins are over washington, carolina, NYG, Oakland, who have a combined 9 wins total, and 27 losses. Every time we've gone up a decent or better team since denver, we've lost.

it's going to be tough. Honestly i wouldn't be surprised if we end up 9-7 or 11-5. I just hope we make the playoffs. If we don't , I'll just look forward to what a long offseason might do for the team's health and wait for next year's games while appreciating what a fun few years it's been.

Yup, making the playoffs is all that is on my mind. When we do not, the season disappears. 86" 10-6 seahawks anyone? Only we remember how good they were
