That Falcons game was so huge. Just devastating to lose. It really screwed us for the rest of the year. I think the best we do now is a Wildcard at 10-6. Might even miss the playoffs.

9-7, no playoffs. Only wins against Dallas and Arizona to end the year.

Injuries are the worst.

You really think Blake Bortles is going to beat us? :p

I mean there is a chance; it's on the road, and they have an improved defense. But it's Blake Bortles . . . c'mon. The chances of that happening can't be much higher than 30%.

The Jags defense is no joke, and very similar to our D when Pete first took over........young, fast, physical and nasty.

So no, Bortles doesn't scare anyone, but this is a game we could lose 10-6 if Russell and the offense lay a turd against a very good physical defense.

Just mentioned in another thread but to re-iterate, they don't ask much out of Bortles. He rarely throws anything deep, almost every pass is something short looking to get YAC. Even on third and long I've seen them run WR screens quite often. Coach is plenty happy punting and trusting their defense instead of letting Bortles make errant deep throws.

Right, watch a Jags game, very much looks like our offense when Russell was a rookie.............don't turn it over, play cautious, hand it off to a good back and trust your defense.

I have a feeling this game is a going to look a lot like the Titans game, where we get punched in the face by a VERY physical fired up young team that's ready to prove that we're no longer the bullies on the block.

The Titans scored 33 points behind Marcus Mariotta. You think Blake Bortles will score 33 points? They just lost to Arizona, making Blaine Gabbert look like a stud.

It's possible Jacksonville wins, especially if we turn the ball over, but it's pretty unlikely. Thankfully, the offensive line is now stronger it was a month ago. It's probably not going to be 95 degrees and humid either, like it was in Tennessee in September.

The game was much more low scoring until the Titans ran all over us in the 2nd half because our defense finally wore out.

So yes, from a PHYSICALITY standpoint, I think it will look very similar to the Titans game.

This was pointed out on another message board (reddit), but it's worth mentioning here:
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/20 ... ons/games/

FiveThirtyEight's NFL Elo projection has the Seahawks favored in four of their remaining five games. The only game they are not favored to win is against the Eagles, and this upcoming game is basically a tossup: 52-48.

11 wins is not out of the question, regardless of where the coin lands on Sunday.

Go Hawks!

Amazing how much of a positive vibe the website gets after a win. Last week everyone was blowing up the program, now we have guys thinking we can go 12-4 and 11-5 against one od the toughest schedules in football.

We will likely be favoured in only 2 of our remaining 5 games. Maybe favoured in only one. If that pans out, 8-8 or 9-7 are the most likely possibilities. At this point I'm not booking my hotel in January in Seattle yet.

Wilson and Wagner may not be enough to get us through this gauntlet. Unless the secondary, OL and RB's pull up their socks, out on their big boy pants and ball out, we are likely a WC at best and sitting home as the most likely scenario.

That being said, the team has galvanized for a playoff push before but that was rarely against such a daunting final 5 games.

This is true. However, I think the final six games in 2014 were arguably tougher. We were 6-4 at that time, as well. Then had to play Arizona and San Francisco twice each, plus at Philadelphia and the Rams, who treated every game vs. Seattle like it was their Super Bowl under Jeff Fisher.

Arizona and SF are bad teams this year. Jacksonville is a paper tiger that just lost to Arizona. Dallas' season is over. We already beat the Rams, and now we get them at home, so probably a 65% we win that one. The only really difficult game is this week. It's going to be a dog fight. I can't say for sure we will win, but I would say it's about as likely as a coin flip.

vs Philadelphia (50%)
@ Jacksonville (70%)
vs Los Angeles (65%)
@ Dallas (65%)
vs Arizona (90%)

No, the games at the end of 2014 were nowhere near as tough. AZ with Stanton, then again with Lindley against a full strength LoB was a cakewalk. The Eagles had Mark Sanchez at QB. The Rams, I'll give you, but that game was at the Clink near the height of our HFA. San Fran was in full on implosion mode at that point. That schedule was a breeze compared to what we have to face now.

This is what I have as well. We have gotten worse every year since the SB loss. Offensive coaching and player development have been horrible.

Redskins aren't a bad football team. Lots of injuries kinda derailed their season but they have the ability to put up points. Kirk is about to get a monster contract somewhere this offseason (even if he shouldn't be). Surprisingly it was their defense who won the game for them though the Hawks offensive coaching staff should take a ton of blame for not adjusting until the fourth quarter. Striving for the deep ball all game against a defense conceding short passes is what lost it. Definitely an upset but let's not compare them to the Browns.

Again, Jags game will come down to limiting turnovers and selling out to stop the run. They ask NOTHING out of Bortles, at least Mariota can make some good throws. I'd be surprised if he throws anything longer than 10 yards against us and Fournette will probably get ~25 touches. It will definitely be a 13-10 ish game, whoever can win field position battle should probably come out on top. And I think Russ should have some success on deeper routes, their CBs are terrific but safeties can be beaten.

The Bears beat the Steelers, they are horrible. It happens. Any given Sunday, especially this NFL Season.
