You absolutely cannot take a sack right there, especially a “Russ Style” sack.
Throw it away and you can go for it on 4th and 2.

Pete talks about compete but I don’t think he trusts Walker imo.

Sack was bad, agreed, but why are we running twice to start the drive? Outside of drops or officials stepping in, our pass game has been better.

We are a pass to setup the run team, not the other way around.

Ditto can’t overcome the Refs when they’re taking TDs off the board and giving them to the saints with incomplete passes.
Refs have been dogshit but you still have a chance if he doesn’t take a sack there.

Sure miss Homer right now. That 3rd and 2 would have been better with Homer blocking rather than Walker. Plus, with Penny out we are thin.

But... we shouldn't be in that position. The refs kept them in a game they didn't belong in.

You can't have that many calls that take points off the field or go to the other team, that are all either questionable or BAD and be like 'well, if Geno who's been good for 99.5% of the game doesn't take a sack...'

We need to talk about the defense. I'm sure they're going to talk about that sack. But this is WHY officiating in the NFL stays so bad because we go 'well, at least they didn't screw us so bad that we didn't have one last chance'.

Agree that the refs were pure shit and the defense was pure shit. Not even debateable.

Geno still cannot take a sack there, he has to keep that drive alive, he was slow to process the pressure there. That can’t happen in that spot with the game on the line.

It’s not an either, or, thing. It’s an “all of the above” thing.

Slow to process a complete failure in pass pro? The all 22 will be interesting to review.

He should have thrown it away. That I agree with. Taking the sack by trying to keep the play alive like Wilson was terrible.

We agree on the sack. He needed to throw that away.

But it's one of these things where it seems people are just sitting at their keyboard waiting for something like that to happen. The problem with THAT drive was the run-run-pass playcalling.

We shouldn't be running twice like that when our passing game has been much more consistent. You take away drops and bad officiating and Geno's game had been great... again.

I said earlier we had to stop running on the first play of a series. It's one thing if we thought we were in four down territory but if we are in that mode than we'd have still gone for it on 4th and 16.

Our rhythm is based on the pass game this year. We are a pass to set up the run team, not the other way around. And in our biggest moment we needed to put the ball in the hand of our best player, which to this point is Geno and our passing game, even with the drops and fumbles.

Geno plays great in the first half...He didn't do too much besides that beautiful pass to Lockett. I believe that was his first TD this season in the 2nd half in 5 games. Im very surprise w/ Geno this season but also not surprise of his non clutch factor.
