I think it’s funny how the 7 year old me thought that the Kingdome was the greatest stadium ever built.

Only later in life did I realize what a giant turd it was.

That said, the memories will remain immortally great. I got to see the Sounders, Sonics, M’s, and Seahawks there live. That big slab of falling concrete will always have a special place in my heart.

Quick funny story. I am running for office in my little town. We have a special needs resident and I asked him "Any suggestions on how to make our town better"? And he said "Yeah, bring the Kingdome here". He isn't wrong!

Surreal time in my life. Watching the Kingdome implode live on KING5 and then a week or so later I was in King County Jail for a 72 hour hold "felony harassment" charge. My roommate was a psycho, charges were dropped, I lost 10 pounds in 3 days...Fun times!

It was ugly as sin, but it was great as well, loved seeing games there, especially MNF.

I’d kill to lose 10 pounds in three days. Don’t give me ideas.

I’ve posted this before on other threads but I’m still dealing with trauma from the prepubescent me having to piss in those kingdome troughs.

Same.

However, the ingredients are, rent your apartment to a cute girl who is "artsy" and "eccentric". Have relations, then allow her to have a cat she doesn't pick up after (yes, almond rocas on the floor), then when threatened with being kicked out she calls 911 and plays the victim of being attacked and afraid for her life, none of which was even remotely true.

Add in a short, newbie Bellevue cop with his mind made up and you are off to jail. All meals for the next 72 hours were given to the biggest, baddest dude I could find in the holding cell. Add stress and there's your 10 pounds lost.

Godspeed!

The sports memories I have from my time in Washington are associated with Seattle Center and the Kingdome.
The Sonics, the Ms with Griffey running up the wall and Omg 1995 playoffs.
I didn't forget the Seahawks!
Who had louder than us ever? I remember the feet stamping and the Dome was shaking.
No rock concert compares to the loudness that was in there seriously.

Anyone else remember how when the wave was happening in the Kingdome, when it was straight across the stadium from you, you could feel it as well as see it?

Hawks fans were just as loud back in the dome too. I remember at least a couple of games where it was holding up the game and the refs trying to stop the noise. I remember a QB, Elway maybe?, whining about it and the refs coming to his aid.

Seen quite a few M's games there also. The 1 game playoff against the Angels in 95 was amazing. That place sucked though, a lot of good memories despite it.

I was in Iceland, of all places, when it imploded. All the east coast azzholes in my squadron kept asking me why they'd build a new stadium for the "CFL South Alaska Sea-Hacks".

Good times:rolleyes:
