Figured this would be a good idea to make since we have some injured players on the team, to stay updated on any and all announcements regarding them. Starting with this:

Not to sound like a douche, but I’m still not understanding why it took Charbs so long to get the knee surgery. Was it to wait for the swelling to go down?

Certainly part of it, but I don't think swelling would have lasted that long. Might have been shopping around to different doctors to see who they preferred. 🤷‍♂️

Plus sometimes you want a certain doctor.. these days seems like it takes a very long time to get booked for one... I'm sure he's looking for the best one as well. IDK.. just thinking out loud.

Even when youre rich.. it takes time to schedule things.

I fractured my heel... took 3 weeks to get surgery.. had already started healing by then.. force them to rebreak it.. before they reset and screwed it

While we may have amazing doctors.. the general process is ballsack

Typical timeframe for surgical repair of an ACL is 3 to 6 weeks from the date of injury. You want to be sure and have excellent range of motion before you undergo the surgery, so that you have good range of motion after.

Some people get it back earlier than others, but rushing it is a bad idea which leads to poor outcomes.

He is right on schedule with his repair

Macdonald addressed this today at the combine. He said it was for medical reasons. They had to wait for his knee to "calm down."
Yeah we all heard that.. but most people in the profession know thats BS... it doesn't take that LONG to "Calm down" in fact your ligaments etc begin to heal in the WRONG way... which hurts future injuries.

There was something else going on.. point blank

Every injury is different. Watching the last season, I trust the Seahawks medical staff implicitly.
Also, unless you’re a medical expert, let’s tone down the concerns and pump some positive energy into this deal. I bet you he’s back by October. Let’s go.

Respectfully, as someone who participates in the care of these injuries, no. A torn ACL doesn’t heal itself in a way that significantly impairs the success of the surgery for quite some time.

The absolute worst thing that can happen for recovery is for range of motion to be impaired after the surgery. It will be less than whatever it was before, so we want excellent range before so we still have good range after.

Some people take more post-injury time to get sufficient range than others. Zac took longer than some, but was still in the typical 3-6 week window.

So yes, they needed to wait for his knee to calm down (swelling and inflammation and pain that were limiting his preop range of motion) to proceed.

None of us will ever know, just seems like more reasons to get dramatic. If he could have had the surgery earlier, don't you think he would have?
I know it's 2026, but not EVERYTHING is some kind of conspiracy or sketchy.

I'm still concerned about Horton than Zach myself.

I believe Zach will be fine.

Horton remains a mystery.

It's almost like his injury was something far more serious but no one's saying anything.
