I'm not convinced that miles traveled is a good gauge of how much a team has to endure on a road trip. The amount of time in the air varies, but there's the hassle of getting to the airport, checking bags, going through security, boarding, taxi, landing/deboarding, picking up luggage, and checking into the hotel. All of those things are constant no matter how far you fly, and the percentage of the time occupied doing that stuff goes up as the miles go down. The actual flying time is the least stressful of all those other inconveniences.
More miles probably means more time zone changes as well, that does affect you.

Do you remember the east coast jinx theory? It was more of an issue with us fans than it was with the teams.

But I do agree that it's a factor. I just don't think any of this, time zones, air travel, mileage, et al, is a big enough factor to have a noticeable effect on competitiveness.

Decently reliable, but not confirmed Rumor:

Niners open Week 1 at Seahawks.

Several opening games being leaked to be division games. Including the confirmed Cowboys at Eagles and Chiefs at Chargers in Brazil.

Yup. And they announced a couple xmas games and a few others on NFL Network yesterday.
Eagles at Packers on MNF, Nov. 10
Sat. Dec. 20 games: Philly at Washington, Green Bay at Chicago.
Broncos at Chiefs on Xmas night. Lions at Vikings on Xmas.
Panthers at Jags Week 1
Just heard Eagles at KC, Week 2, SB Rematch. Noice.

Saw a rumor flying this morning that it will be Hawks AT Arizona in Week 4. We shall see.

Definitely not a myth. It wasn't until Carroll completely changed the schedule and the way the team prepared for easy coast trips that it finally started to balance out. Macdonald, I believe, has used continued to use Carroll's methods.

Did you make this up? (sorry but after the embarrassment I suffered several days ago, I'm wary....lol)

I'm really not too excited for the schedule release. I already know we won't get any SNF games (which is typically the marquee primetime game of the week). Besides, we already know the opponents and the venue.

I’ve shared my source up thread. Here it is again.

For absolute concrete confirmed, you have to wait for the official release. All of the confirmations so far have matched this grid.

Brian Nemhauser aka Hawkblogger reported early Wednesday morning that the Seahawks’ road opener will be Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It looks like we won't have to wait long to see our old friend DK.
Yep.

And…Hawks open at home v Niners, then close the season in Santa Clara.

Per grid, It looks like most of the TNF games across the league are Division games. Maybe they figure this will make them more interesting.

Rams play Hawks and Niners TNF.
Hawks play Rams and Cards on TNF.
