Rules are simple with one caveat ….

Your tie breakers must be posted prior to Kickoff off of week #4.
(Seahawks vs Cardinals)

1st tie breaker.
Predict Total points for (Seahawks regular season) without going over.

2nd tie breaker.
Predict Total points against (Seahawks regular season) without going over.

Here’s the contest.

Every week predict the NFL games that week.
Win /Loss every game that week.

You will receive 1 point for every correct prediction.

At the end of regular season the person with the most points wins.

No reason you have to post every single week, but if you don’t you won’t receive any points for that week.

PREDICTIONS MUST BE POSTED HERE PRIOR TO KICK OFF OF THE FIRST GAME OF EACH WEEK.

Any game you happen to miss predicting is on you, you just don’t get any points. ie Sunday/Thursday night.

The Grand prize is:
The Retro Largent Jersey that @AROS offered up. He’s already sent it to me, it will remain in the package as he sent it until I send it to the winner.

I will add a couple of smaller items TBD and it appears that a couple others are willing to “kick in” something as well.
I suggest those folks send me their contributions so that I can send one package to the winner.
PM me for shipping info.
I’ll not be held accountable for offerings until I have them in hand and post that I do.

I’ll need a bit of help keeping score, and I’d certainly love to have a volunteer or two willing to step up.

GoHawks

Best o Luck to all participants

ETA
I’ll toss in a retro Zippo in accordance with the theme, and a wine/whiskey stopper

This would be a good example of a prediction post for Week #1

9-4 Eagles over Cowboys
9/5 Chiefs over Chargers
9/7
Buccaneers over Falcons
Bengals over Browns
Dolphins over Colts
Raiders over Patriots
Saints over Cardinals
Steelers over Jets
Commanders over Giants
Jaguars over Panthers
Broncos over Titans
Seahawks over 49ers
Lions over Packers
Texans over Rams
Bills over Ravens

MNF 9/8
Vikings over Bears.

If done this way, it would allow for us to easily edit your post to reflect your points each week.

As someone who has tracked a lot of games over the last decade or so (including here once or twice) - get a solid spreadsheet created at the beginning.

Fun game! I look forward to playing, and should I per chance win: @JustTheTip will get more Hawks stuff for our Hawks/Rams game room.

You want to help with this one?

I’m hearing that there are sites that will keep track but I’m completely unfamiliar, and I have a concern about directing traffic away from.net.

I’d kinda like for everyone (even those not playing) to be able to monitor things right here.

I’m open however to discuss the possibilities

Running a Pick'em without Pick'em software is massively time consuming. People refuse to post picks in the order you list games and it wastes a lot of time reorganising picks into spreadsheets and scoring games.

Please don't use the ESPN site for Pick'em.

I want to contribute a Largent rookie card but an idea that hit me is should it go to the 2nd place position?

When week 14 hits and Aros has this contest locked up, people might start dropping out.

It's just a thought. I will start looking on eBay for a nice graded Largent rookie. I will dm for the address and send it when It arrives.

Last year was a mini helmet autographed by BeastMode #24

Quit slacking.

ETA
I take it back, mini helmet autographed by #24 was year before last.

Last year was an Autographed rookie card (Tyler Lockett)

AND

an authenticated section of field turf used during our NFCCG vs 9ers and superbowl runs.

I can like this.

I’ll offer up your contribution as a second place prize when I have it in my hand.

No offense intended but I’ve been burned on the internet a time or two.

Thank you for your offer and contribution in advance.

Ok, getting ready! What is the method you are using for us all to play this game? Make posts in the Seahawks forum?

Attention All.

I’m thinking that I’ll unstick this thread soon after we kick off the regular season and the contest starts.
I will create a new thread dedicated to the contest only.

I understand the issues that can arise but I have faith in this community to be honest and fair.

I say that each contestant should post their weekly picks prior to kick off of the first game that week.

When the last game that week is played, come back and edit your post to reflect your score for the week. (1 point for every correct prediction).

Edit should look something like this:

ETA my score

7 points

Each contestant should keep a running tally of total points, to look something like this.

ETA
My score this week 7 points + 7 points from last week.

Current total 14 points

I fully understand that “off site” formats can do this stuff for us, I’m simply not a fan of not keeping our contest 💯 “in house”.

Bottom line is
Most points at the end of regular season wins.
If you fail to post your predictions prior to kickoff of that week you get no points for that week, but you still can continue on.

Many eyes will be on this contest, it is 100% the honor system.
Having said that, anyone caught not being honest or attempting to cheat will be excluded from the contest NO QUESTIONS ASKED/NO 2nd Chances.

ANYONE intentionally attempting to sabotage this contest will be permanently banned and lose their posting privileges here @.net

None of this is set in stone, this simply what I’ve come up with.
I’m/were still open to suggestions as long as we keep it here and folks don’t have to navigate away from.net to play.

I’m completely open to having someone step up and volunteer to keep score on a spreadsheet if that’s what they want to do, I’m just not that Huckleberry (so to speak).

This sounds like a lot of work to play.

I am out.

Bye!

Make predictions, keep track of your own score.

Hmmmm

Yea, seems like a miserable way to bond with the online community AND maybe win an awesome prize.

😢sad to see your “out”, but it pretty much aligns with what society has evolved into.

I get it.

As a long time runner of NFL games on NFL Fan Boards, I am telling you that I think it is STUPID to have the players track your game.

My NFL board games were all fun and successful.

I don't want to join a game where I have to do all the work to be a player. If you are running the game, then own it.

ETA: THIS is a good example of what you say society "has evolve to" - when I ran a game here, I did the work.
