Wow that's a lot of faith in guys that weren't even considered draftable. A 4 year starter not being an upgrade over wet behind the ears long shot UDFA's? SMH.
We have a new OC that was a TE coach and worked in the Shanahan system where TE's are elite pass catchers (think Kittle and Sharpe). I've got a great feeling about Arroyo and Barner this year.
If anything we may have too many weapons.
Lets look at this.
Offense:
QB: 2013.
Russ just nudges out Darnold largely due to mobility. In terms of passing there's not much difference that year.
OL: 2025.
Cross, Lucas and Zabel are cornerstone guys. No one on the 2013 line got a second contract other than Unger.
TE: 2025
Barner is...
I’d agree that’s too much cash for a RBBC guy. He’s not durable enough to bell cow. But I wish him the best. As for KC, I think you had bigger needs than a platoon back.
Minor gamble. RB is the simplest position to replace with college ranks literally flooded with solid players at that position.
K9 is a platoon back. Too fragile to be a bell cow. No need to overpay for a RBBC player. Would I love to have him back? Sure but not at a premium price.
Wasn’t even close to the percentages you quoted. Maybe 10-15% at the home opener and 1 percent at the playoff game. They are concentrated in certain areas so it can look like more, but it’s really a small number.
They totally missed a blatant OPI by Puka in Sundays game. And I’m pretty convinced they miss a lot of the Rams pick plays. Whether that’s intentional or not is very much up for interpretation.
How can a fan base that invented the paper sack over their head be insufferable? They’re a cursed franchise.
You sound like you have some personal beefs. And no legit Hawks fan would ever cheer for the Rams in a battle for the division. Like ever.
Pretty sure you can only be odd or predictable. And again, most fans think a play call is odd or predictable when it doesn’t work. And again play not working can be due to way more reasons than the play call.
We’ve played a lot of string defenses this year. Rams, SF, Hou, Jax, Minny, Indy, Pitt, and even Arizona.
I’m not convinced Kubiak is a big issue but I get that fans want to fire any coordinator that can’t score 35 points a game.
Different era. Defenses were allowed far more contact with receivers in the LOB era.
That makes it hard to directly compare.
But I’d have to say the defensive front is better on this defense but the LB’s and safeties were better in the LOB era. CB’s is a push since the LOB had Sherman and...
Actually they are basically there to keep the bets even between betting sides so that the casino breaks even and basically takes the vig.
So if Vegas favours one side its not because they think one team is better than the other, its that they think the bettors think one team is better and the...
We've been terrible at targeting RBs in the passing game which is one of my chief criticisms of Kubiak. both Charbonnet and K9 have good hands. Get them in space with the ball in their hands instead of these annoying WR screens to JSN.
Just remember that some trick plays are about putting stuff on film for opponents to think about. And then it can be used against them. Just think next time Kupp comes around and Darnold fakes the toss and hits Barner on the backside because everyone followed Kupp and JSN.
I'm not a fan of...
You do know that teams run trick plays like that all the time? Often in situations where they are up 2 scores. I've lost count of how many times Bevell ran trick plays when we were ahead and cruising. It's a solid time to try it. Worst time to try it is when you are in a tight game and a...
