    JSN @ 40+ million per?

From an analytics standpoint, $40 million per year to a wide receiver is not good value. The difference in production between an elite receiver and an above-average one doesn't justify the huge difference in salary. Compare it, for example, to elite running backs, who top out at $20 million, and...

    Zach.. looking good

I feel bad he didn't get to play in the big game. He was a big part of the team's success this season. But his teammates were thinking of him:

Mitch Garver back on minor league contract

I would say that they need a solid backup catcher so that Cal can DH more and not get so beat up during the regular season. And to do that, you need someone who is competent enough defensively so that pitchers won't mind throwing to them. Not sure Knizner is that guy.

    Re-evaluating Sam's Super Bowl

I asked AI if Darnold was an average NFL quarterback. It said that Darnold is an above average, top-10 QB. End of debate.

Mitch Garver back on minor league contract

Turn out Cal Raleigh was instrumental in bringing Garver back. Garver is respected and well-liked in the clubhouse and if Cal wants this to happen, I'm okay with it. I still don't think Garver makes the team, but if he's willing to be an insurance policy playing down in Tacoma, that's not a bad...

    Mariners.TV

If you live outside the Seattle area, you should be able to watch on mlb.com/mlb.tv for $149 per year. (It was $99 per year until recently.) But as an added bonus, you can watch any game as well.

    Fleury presser

I came away somewhat skeptical. I think he's a smart guy because he wouldn't have been doing analytics/research for 3 years if someone didn't think he was. But when he emphasized style over scheme, I was a bit concerned because in today's NFL, as an OC you have to really know the Xs and Os in...

Biggest current sports star in Seattle

I think Leonard Williams is one of the key players in the Seahawks' defense. He's critical to that defense, and likely one of the best players, but because of his position, he doesn't have the same name recognition or star power that you need to be the "star" of the city. Even a casual fan knows...

Mitch Garver back on minor league contract

Mitch Garver is going to be 35 this year, so I really doubt he is going to start hitting like he did pre-2024. But you never know, sometimes the pressure of a big contract messes with your head. He might do better playing for the veteran minimum.

    Bears relocating to Indiana?

Not that big of a deal, sort of like the New York Jets and Giants playing in New Jersey. Parts of suburban Chicago is in both Wisconsin and Indiana.

Mitch Garver back on minor league contract

Mariners bring back Garver to compete for backup catcher job. https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/mariners/mariners-bring-back-mitch-garver-to-compete-for-backup-catcher-spot/ No guarantees, just a minor league deal. A big fall from his $24 million deal.

Seahawks odds of SB win during 2025 season

Everyone knows the Seahawks were 60-1 longshots before the season started. But did you know that the odds actually got worse after the week 1 loss to the 49ers, to 80-1? That would have been the time to place your bet. It actually got better after the week 4 win over the Cardinals, to 33-1, but...

SF will have to play in Mexico too

You're right to some extent. But the Australia game is a week and half before the second game, so it isn't the same as an international game during the season. They'll have plenty of time to rest and regroup after that trip.
